 Post subject: Gamepad and EQ

I used to run a Gamepad and EQ together (using a Joy2Key to map functions into EQ keystrokes)

Apparently this doesnt work under Windows 7. (the inputs are ignored or arent being passed to EQ)

Anythoughts?

For general movement and game play, or for the reason we all did way back, to be able to autofire our bows?

both. (Yes, I know about the autofire option in EQ, but a) it has a built in delay so you lose DPS, and b) more commonly, I use it when headshot swarm kiting for pulling lots of mobs. /autofire turns off if the mob is killed so you have to keep turning it back on while trying to ranged-pull)

Are you launching EQ as administrator? That may affect it (had that issue with Vent and WoW until I started launching them as admin).

tested joy 2 key fuctionality elsewhere? preferrably in another full screen, direct input app

I still use the external autofire program (I think 4.0 was the latest version and is years old) not the /autofire command. I never did the gamepad thing back then and I still have yet to use the /autofire command.
