No, it's not, any place I shop has lots of thongs and honestly they are nesisary with some outfits (unless you go comando style) cause normal panties will show line. Plus IMO they are more confortable.

Ok, that article is bunk. Thongs prevent panty lines when wearing tight pants/clingy skirts.
Boy shorts aka hipsters or cheekies are great as far as loungerie goes (they make your butt look fabulous) but completely impractical IRL because the ride up your crack all day.
I'd rather have a tiny thong up my butt all day than my entire undies.
Boy shorts=super all-day wedgie=the thong will never die.

thong = small strip of fabric that's ment to go there, boy-shorts riding up = a whole lot more fabric in that that's also all bunched up, which is not comfortable.

And since it's all bunched up and un-comfortable you're always having to re-adjust it, same with most regular panties too for that matter, thong is put on and that it's, it's not going anywhere or needing adjustment.

Not that I can speak from experience....

A thong is a very small piece of fabric nestled snugly between your butt cheeks. After the first couple of times you've ever worn one, you get used to it and it feels very comfy; it does not chafe when you walk, nor can you even feel it really.
Boy shorts, however, create a massive wedgie....no way to get comfy with several inches of cotton/blend wadded in between your cheeks and the chafing and rubbing every time you walk. Ugh.

thongs don't do it for me.. Find them uncomfortable and a tad revealing when my scrub ties decide to accidently undo when I least expect it..I go for bikini.. Other things saved for special occasions where they might not be on long enough to become uncomfortable
