The read is **** awesome! Of course, being a redhead myself I'm not exactly impartial.

I've told her that the red looks better several times. She's even admitted most people think so. Still, it remains black.

It matters what she thinks.

As far as hair colors go, black isn't slimming for you Sassy, listen to your friends.

Natural brunette looks good too, Sas. Red is great, but Micheal, it gets so expensive to keep it up. I wanted to get my hair colored with reddish hi-lights, but they want $95 to do it, that's all fine..but to keep it up gets expensive..may do it for a little bit, not sure, saving money is more important right now!

Sas said same thing! Saving money rules atm.

If you don't want to spend the money for salon quality colour, you could go for a bottled colour which is cheaper and easier to maintain.

For around $20 every 2-3 month (depending on how fast your hair grow) you could put a red tinge into your hair. I usually do this myself as my long hair takes $250 and 5 hours at the saloon to get the 'right' colour.

I found that L'oreal are good for my hair, but you really should try it yourself.

I know, i'm just overly paranoid about messing up my hair so i'd rather do it at a hair dresser when I do have it colored.

Damn, $250 and 5 hours? i've never been in the salon that long even when I had really long, longest was 3-4 when I was trying to get the purple out of my hair when going to my current color, and it only cost me $50 plus tip.

My hair is just above my rear end and there's quite a bit of it. I tried to change hair dressers once, walked in, told them what I wanted, saw the hair dresser whince and the dude behind the counter go cha-ching scrouge mcduck style.

My natural colour is med-dark brown, however I normally put a red tinge through it. The darker reds like burgandy or ruby looks great under the sun for me...
