So I've been having headspace problems for the past few days. Migraine-type headache (with none of the usual aura), absence and perceptive siezure, always cold or hot (occasionally both), memory issues and confusion, and extreme vertigo when rolling over in bed (and to a lesser extent when upright and turning my head).

WTF?

I'm experiencing dark depression-like symptoms. I have difficulty getting up or doing anything, am unmotivated at work, don't want to talk to people or go out, feel sad a lot, and dwell on death all the time. Wanna trade?

I'd get your head checked.

Amputate.

Seriously though, see a doc. Could be something as simple as some sort of sinus/inner ear infection or something as complex as a brain tumor.

Only a doctor will know.

Can yours be treated with medication? Maybe we ought to swap for a few days and reevaluate...

Supposedly. My psychiatrist started me on a new mood stabilizer/anti-depressant, but it hasn't seemed to kick in yet.

Yeah, it's tons of fun when they tell you "Here! Take this, it will fix everything! Eventually. Maybe."

First (and probably least-trained) professional medical opinion: Go see a doc!

All that stuff screams to me that you need some sort of imaging study to see what's going on in your noggin. From there, they can narrow it down further.

My gut says you need a neurologist, but I'm biased with all the neuro orders I do for my job. Please don't wait for this to worsen where you actually need to get admitted to a hospital. This totally sounds like some of the younger neurology patients I see at work.

Or when it does fix your problem, but the side effects are much worse. This is why I avoid drugs for my anxiety problems.

I'm just gonna put this out there, and please don't feel offended or anything. By the sound of the symptoms, you could be going through early menopause. It also sounds like the severe type.

Go see a doc and its easily treatable.

What is "absence and perceptive siezure"?

Absence seizures are basically petit mal seizures in epilepsy, lot of twitching and shaking and general discomfort. Perceptive seizures deal with not only your perceptions (distorted sights and sounds), but how others perceive what you are going through, you may not be able to communicate well.

Taamar, get your lovely self to a doctor, pronto. Please. This isn't something to fool around with.

Hopefully, Lydiaa is right. That would explain a lot. best to be sure.

Any luck finding a job yet?

Hormonal imbalance sounds reasonable. I did a google search on menopause symptoms and was surprised to find some neurological ones on the list.
Best to check with your doctor though.

This is actually where I'm getting a little worried. While the tingling/slight shaking of extremeties are normal, actually seizing is not...

And while dizziness, memory lapse and even difference in perception may occure to the person, the inability to communicate is not a normal symption...

I guess the extent of absence and perceptive siezure would be a telling sign.

Remember that I have epilepsy... seizures are not out of the ordinary for me.

*sigh* to the doc with me... no medical insurance (unbelievable expensive). I'm guessing it's an ear thing, noticed some sharp pain high on the jawline earlier.

I wish I had something more to contribute...going to the doctor is best advice, I know it's expensive, but if you wait and come into the hospital the bill will be worse. So many are delaying treatment based on not having insurance, and they need more treatment due to waiting.

Good luck Taamar!

There is also medicaid and many other state run programs that can be used. You paid plenty of money out of your paychecks when working to pay for these programs don't fret about using them when needed. I had to do it after getting out of the Navy and spending 15 months unemployed.

I don't know about other states, but in Mississippi you are ineligible for medicaid if you make more than $200 a month.
There is a program for pregnant women and a program for children, but for adults making more than a couple hundred dollars a month, there is nothing but the emergency room for those who can't afford insurance.

Erm..The ER has to see you, but if they determine that it is a non-life-threatening issue, they do not have to treat you. And you still get billed for any assessment and treatment.

*wanders off grumbling about medicine being between a rock and a hard place*

Heh.. I make more than twice that in one weekend of drill.. in my takehome pay; not my gross pay. Nice to know that just being in the Reserves or National Guard would put you over the limit to get help if you needed it.

Not that I agree with it in the first place, but this is part of what makes it so bad. We spend all this money on it and people in need can't get it; only those that do pretty much nothing can.

As a note, my new medication seems to have kicked in and it works! Yay. Or I just coincidentally feel better.

Glad to hear it, Imperi. Having been dealing with depression and anxiety for the last few years, I hope you have a positive outcome.

I reduced my lithium some, and I think that's helped a lot. Too much lithium keeps you in a permanent state of "blah".
