I'm thinking it would be a lot of work. I'd want to be paid by the hour.

I'm going to apologize in advance for calling out Diamondeye and Beryllin, but they are the two currently posting examples to come to mind at the moment. I have tried, many times, to enter into discussions on Moral Realism (a school of metaphysics) with Diamondeye and Heteronormativity with Beryllin; but, generally, neither of them is willing to entertain the discussion. We have opportunities to discuss the topics underlying what we all see/don't see in a given topic, but as a general rule, pushing the boundaries gets frowned upon. I'm not talking about derails as much as I am getting at the underlying discussion of broader social phenomenology that chases our topic sets.

No apology to me is needed, Khross. But really, what does Heteronormativity have to do with what Scripture calls sin? Nothing. Scripture names homosexuality as a sin, and if Scripture did not, I would not care about the issue. That's my sole reason for posting on the subject as I do. Heteronormativity (whatever that is) is not going to erase the words written centuries ago, which I believe came directly from God through the writers.

So TBH, I see no profit from discussing a subject I have no knowledge of. I'm not aware of what Heteronormativity is, let alone have enough working knowledge of the subject to carry on a reasonable debate/discussion with you.

From Wiki because it's a good enough definition of heteronomativity:
Heteronormativity is a term for a set of lifestyle norms that indicate or imply that (1) people fall into only one of two distinct and complementary sexes (male and female) with each having certain natural roles in life, and that (2) heterosexuality is the only normal sexual orientation, thus making sexual and marital relations appropriate only between members of the opposite sex. Consequently, a heteronormative view is one that promotes alignment of biological sex, gender identity, and gender roles to the gender binary.

As I think I've proven, you don't have to play that game if you don't want to.

But I'd rather not drive posters away either or have them not post because of all personal attacks. Alternatively though, moderating, in my opinion, just makes people mask their animosity in as thick a veil as necessary to escape a warning. So you cant win in these types of forums, really, unless you weed out the bad and keep the good somehow.

I dont know. At this point, Monte is banned so whoever thinks he is the be all end all of the problem you have 3 weeks of trial run at least. If he was all there is to making this place paradise, well just keep posting how you were before. What can I tell you. If you're under the impression anyone owes you moderation of anything here, and not just moderation but your version of good moderation, ha. If social order breaks down with the absence of moderation and everyone goes nuts and violates the 'dont be a dick' rule, we'll see what happens.

Except that doesn't work because you've not only removed a factor from the environment, but changed the environment (via rules changes).

In order to really see if it was "just one person" you'd have to keep other factors static following removal of that person.

That's fine Khross, no apology needed. You've never asked me why though.

In any case, that's how I feel about most military topics. I explain at great length some technical, doctrinal, or policy issue, and how it's actually applied, and I get silence from most people, yelling and screaming about how I must not know what I'm talking about because he doesn't like it from Monty, and occasionally someone going apeshit because they think I'm simply making this all up, and they should be able to make up **** too and have it taken just as seriously because they have a DD-214 too!

I do get questions from time to time, but I can only recall one actual discussion that wasn't someone just putting up a wall of ignorance about what I had to say. It's fine though; I realize most people are not all that interested in the finer technical aspects of indirect fire, or whatever.

For the record, I appreciate your explanations DE. I do think you know what you are talking about and have the experience to back yourself up. I don't always say something because I'm nodding my head and going either "so thats how it works" or "okay, that makes sense".

At no time have I thought you were blowing smoke out an orifice when making those explanations.

I know, and I appreciate the sentiment. I know who is just pissed off that I'm saying something they don't like, and I know it's not you, Khross, or actually the majority of the people here.

Yeah? Maybe if you got your right hand off the vibrator for more than 5 seconds you could bother to type a decent flame. Or are you just under so much snow that you can't get to the store for more batteries, and have to type pathetic attempts at flaming because you're jealous Michael was getting my attention?

Yeah. It is the whole typing with one hand thing that makes me lazy with the quality of my flaming. The vibrator wouldn't be needed if any of you guys had a cock big enough to actually feel.

Maybe if you weren't constantly **** to keep warm in that frozen tundra you wouldn't require abnormally large dicks.

Not really. Half of you will question the credibility of the instrument doing the measuring. The other half will be mired in a debate about whether inches or millimeters is the best unit of measurement for the task.

This would actually have some validity if libido didn't tend to go higher while on tropical vacations. Hmm.

Damnit. You made me think. Now I missed my chance to flame.

Oh come on -- that's a no-brainer:

Google hits for "12 inch dick/cock": 200,800
Google hits for "30 centimeter dick/cock": 10
Google hits for "300 millimeter dick/cock": 3 (and they were all in German)

While I might prefer the metric system for most purposes, the inch is clearly the industry standard measurement for this sort of thing.

Did You Know(TM):

1 attoparsec per microfortnight is almost exactly 1 inch per second.

I love the implication that some other ethnicity might find parsecs a good unit of measurement.

Yeah, it's too bad only perhaps one man currently active in porn (Mandingo) is actually that big. Jack Napier, who is widely acknowledged by other male pornstars as having the second-largest penis in the adult industry, is somewhere in the neighborhood of ten inches.

The "twelve inch dick" of porn fame is measured in "porn inches," where the ruler starts somewhere around the man's *******.

I think it's a choice.

Monty is hardly the root of all evil, but the first step is usually realizing you have a problem... We can't moderate how a person thinks, but there are measurable metrics to judge the quality of of a post. Restricting the format of posting to something more akin to a serious debate would do wonders, but I'm sure the mods on this free Internet forum have better things to do.
