Little known history:

The term "Orangeman" dates back to Prince William of Orange (a Dutch title), a Protestant nephew of Catholic King James II of England, Ireland and Scotland. JamesII was one of the Stuarts, and ruled over Parliament and was basically immune to their interference.

William did depose James II using religious grounds, uniting the people against the Catholic despot, the end result was that Scotland, Ireland, and England now had Parliamentary checks and balances on their monarchy that in the past they didn't.

The irony of the Irish fight for independance was that it originally had nothing to do with Independance--they didn't mind being under the British crown, so long as the crown was a Catholic despot and the Parliament couldn't interfere. Those damned Orangemen let the people interfere in politics, and since the people were mostly not Catholic, that was the true grievance!

Not a drop of it in me, although my wife is a quarter or so. Every year we have corned beef and potatoes. My 5-year-old son dug on the corned beef this year - he got all excited when he looked at the plate and thought it was ham, so his sister told him it was "Irish ham."
