I'm thinking of shaving off the little that remains of my cranial hair. Just the skull part, not the jaw and upper lip part.

So tell me, what do you think of the look, and if you've ever done it, how much of a hassle is it to maintain.

Thanks,

well I regularly go over my mellon with a 3mm shaver blade, so I think it is very easy to maintain.

For people who are losing their hair naturally, it is a decent option.

I'd do it, but I have too many scars on my skull and I'm certain it would look funny.

Give it a try, and if you don't like it, you can always grow it back, or perhaps even try maintaining it with clippers and a #1 attachment. I've done it, and I love it.

I've gone back and forth. Currently doing the crew cut thing guys in my family seem to be stuck with thanks to genetics. The hair on the very top of my head is very fine and no product seems to give me results I want---so I keep it trimmed or shaved.

The nice thing about shaving your melon is that you don't have to do it daily, or even every other day...nobody really notices if you are just a bit stubbly.

Just go slow, whatever you do, even when you think you first think you have the process down. People notice scalp cuts on us pasty Irishmen like you wouldn't believe.

Oh, and invest in watch caps and the like for winter, or else let it grow when its cold. ;)

I've been shaving my head for several years now. Typically I can get away with doing it once a week as long as I don't mind having stubble. From a look standpoint it still looks "bald" and decent at 1 week.

If you're going to do it, I highly recommend getting one of these.

http://www.headblade.com/

It allows you to easily shave your head in the shower, just using some body soap or similar as lubricant. I don't even use a mirror, just by feel.

Ok will someone please convince Foamy it looks good.

He just doesn't have the nerve. He is so afraid of what he will look like, but it's going anyway.

It depends on the shape of your head.

I say give it a try!

Foamy, humor Oonagh in this, try it just once. If you don't like it you can grow it back. You don't have to look like your father, you can be yourself.

Besides, if Oonagh likes it, what else matters?

If you are going job shopping these days, which you might be, you will look edgier, more aggressive with the full bald or just a little stubble look. If you turn into a house husband, what the bosses want doesn't matter.

Just be prepared for Sean to not recognize you at first once you shave your head. It will take a few minutes for him to get used to the new you.

If the top of my head fully thins out like one of my grandfathers, I will definitely shave my head. Its my opinion, and ladies seem to agree, that shaving the head is way more socially acceptable. I know some women dislike body hair altogether, head included. I say go for it.

I hate shaving it daily. I finally have reached the conclusion that I dont like looking like a man who doesnt know he's lost the fight with male pattern baldness.

I keep mine quite short (2 guard) but have occasionally gone for the Lex Luthor look.

Ohh, one last thing, let Oonagh cut it off. Make it play.

All the hair on my body is maintained at a 1/2 inch length.

What about your back hair? I would trim that a bit shorter than 1/2 inch.

I took that comment to mean you were willing to shave them for him Nev, and now Kirra is offering to shave yours, lucky guy.
