Oooh, nice...Amazon is running a deal wherein if you purchase the Elite bundle for $300, you get a $50 Amazon gift card for free.

I ordered (they're out of stock, but will be restocking soon) the Spring 2010 bundle, which comes with Forza Motorsport 3 and Halo 3: ODST, neither of which I give a damn about. However, both are on GameStop's Trade 2 Offer, which, upon trading them in, will net me God of War III for $20. And once I get the new Elite in and transfer the data from my current hard drive to the new one, I'll trade that in as well. :)

Anyone else read/heard anything about this?

Apparently, after the April 6th update, you'll be able to use Flash and/or USB drives as external storage for your 360. It's currently capped at 16 GB, but you can use 2 at a time. According to newegg, you can get 16 GB flash drives for around $35 now. Not a bad way to get some extra space at all.

That is so awesome... use an extra USB flash drive to store some DLC when I do not want it taking up my 360 HDD.

Yup, this is awesome. Still disappointed that you can't use a 1TB usb drive or something, but hey, at least they FINALLY opened it up past those idiotic memory cards.

So, my 360 died on me today.

I've got a repair request put in to MS, so I'll be getting it fixed. But I've been thinking about picking up another 360 for my office for a while now. It would make it much easier to play games and stuff in the office, without having to fight my wife and kids for the big TV in the living room. So I thought I might just go ahead and pick up another one, anyway. Any word on if the Elite models (or any other models) have eliminated the RRoD problem? Mine was one of the "newer" versions that had a quieter DVD drive, HDMI connections, and (supposedly) better cooling. Apparently, that didn't help it, though.

Oh, uh...nevermind. What was going to cost me over $600 in upgrades to accomplish (purchase of a new HDMI Elite 360 and a new home theater system that accepts/outputs HDMI) turned out to cost me $4 for a digital coax cable.

Apparently my Philips TV has an SPDIF output, which I'd never heard of before, but outputs the TV's audio to my home theater system receiver (which accepts digital coax).

I had already purchased a 360 Elite, which I'm really enjoying, so that's fine, but it turns out that I didn't even have to get that. Mental note: investigate all unknown inputs/outputs on new televisions in the future. We've only had the TV for going on two years now, and I'm just now discovering this. :p

Keep in mind that some receivers wont output in true 5.1 if they're being routed through your TV first.

Also, to use both an hdmi cable and an optical out from your xbox at the same time, you may need to look into this. I had to.
