Among the moderators, I've just proposed some pretty draconian changes toward the side of Lawful to Neutral Good. One of them is a place for people to post where they are going to go hang out because the Glade has been gelded and they can't be bastards and ***** here any more.

I have no idea if management will go along with my ideas, but if they do I might as well get this started now.

Keep it civil, but if you have other forums you like to go argue your stern little heart out, post them here. Please tell the Gladers who you are there, so they will know where to find you if they want to stay in touch.

Me, I'm just ticked off and have been asking myself that same question a lot lately.

So from the wording of your post, the idea is that this is only the place for people to post if they cant be bastards here anymore, and not if they feel unwelcome for any other reason?

Because it seems like a fairly faintly veiled way of lumping every who is leaving/has left into the same category. And while I understand the frustration driving it, I don't think it's quite fair.

Or should we have one thread for people who want to leave because the glade is becoming sunshine and roses and they can't show their thorns anymore, and another for those who choose to leave for other reasons?

I expect to lose mostly the folks who choose to be bastards and bullies.

The ones who don't tend to be able to talk without gratuitous cussing and general *hatery.

If I'm making you uncomfortable, welcome to the neighborhood.

I don't know why it would be making me uncomfortable, other than the fact that you're disenfranchising those who are leaving for a different reason. Or passive-aggressively baiting either group.

A place for people to post other forums they like to visit is a good idea. Posting it in such a fashion as to bait the ruder of the community, not so much.

Focusing on the unpleasant group that you would be happy to see leave instead of those that I would hope you are sad to see leave just doesn't seem like a very good way to go about things, I guess.

What I get from the wording of his post is, if you want to leave and want folks to know where you are, this thread is for forwarding addresses.

I don't see him doing anything other than that, at least so far.

No, it's a place for people to post where they are going to hang out because they are leaving for specific reasons. There's no 'or' in there, or any other reason. It's a single, specific reason.

Then we saw the same words and came to different conclusions.

I guess that's the case.

It just comes across to me like the only people will leave is because they can't be unpleasant here anymore, which rubs me wrong.

Must just be that I'm frustrated over Kaffis leaving.

Kaffis did what he felt he needed to do. At some point he may feel he needs to return. I did - because of the "In Memoriam" thread.

He's gone through a lot lately. I don't begrudge him his space, and I don't blame him or anyone else for what he's decided to do.

I think this is a bad idea, for 3 reasons.

First, it's a thread made under semi-false pretenses. Michael confesses to being ticked off at the moment, which is going to, and has already, tainted any "yeah, I'm going here, come say hi!" with poor feelings. It will devolve into a thread where people *****.

Second, this is kind of a morbid, depressing thread to have.

Third, the moderation has done absolutely nothing to prevent people from being bastards, so the premise of the thread is incorrect.

Outside of Hellfire this is false, and I'd appreciate if you stopped making comments like we don't do anything.

Case closed!

You graze your own grass, why would we have to?

You're right, it isn't that you haven't stopped people from being bastards. You've either encouraged it passively or, for some you, been bastards yourselves; such as this thread.

Nephyr is right, this thread exists from my perspective almost entirely as a well-poison attack. I'd report it as such, but I'd just get warned.

This thread isn't going to go anywhere but down. Sorry Micheal.
