There is no uniform standard for the judicial selection process. Many nominees have never served as judges.

I'm interested Darksiege and Screeling, how long must one serve as a judge to be qualified, in your opinion?

If you're asking if it were up to me, at least 10 years and honestly I would prefer more. I'd prefer to have somebody who has experience thinking Constitutionally and who has had some of their decisions upheld/overturned by a higher court.

Kagan drafted the "Collective Right" argument in Heller vs. DC as a special solicitor appointed by the President. She literally told the Supreme Court that the present of the National Guard satisfied the Second Amendment for all Citizens and that the Federal government could ban private ownership of firearms.
