The fact is that some ways of talking to people are more effective than others, and they can be learned.

In order for something to be effective, there has to be a goal for it to be effective at. You're not learning effecive ways of talking to people beause you're just talking to people for the sake of talking to people.

By the way, remember those Latina girls? Or girls in general? Female gang membership is on the rise as is violence in general. I'm looking forward to your post about getting stabbed by a hot chick.

Actually, when I talk to girls it is for the purpose of making a great impression on them and getting their numbers. Body language and verbal tonality are very important... more important than the actual words. These are how a girl can tell that a guy is confident.

I've been on the Glade a while now and I'm not sure why this guy's posts still get people to bite. He's going around in public purposely trying to annoy people and then feigning innocence/ignorance when they call him on it. No difference here on the forums.

By the way I spoke to my pdoc and I'm starting up an anti-psychotic/anxiety medicine today (in addition to the lithium and lamotrigine I'm on)... I'm trying really hard not to go crazy. Talking to dozens of strangers every day by myself is stressful, i.e., sometimes I feel like I might die. Yesterday I had a mild panic attack in a Starbucks.

If talking to dozens of strangers Is stressful, why do you do it? Are you gaining any lasting friendships? Girlfriends?

Hopefully the antipsych meds will help you.

I have definitely gained two friendships so far, and possibly more will materialize. Until I move to my new apartment I am mostly focusing on the adventure and skill set and not lasting results.

The reasons I am doing this:

1) The thrill and adventure
2) Exercise (lots of walking)
3) Building my confidence and reducing my social anxiety
4) Getting girls and building a social circle
5) So I can run around and have fun with new people every day, and not be tied down to existing friends who aren't outgoing enough

Instead of quantity, why don't you try quality.

The fastest way to get the girls is to talk to them.

This thread makes me think Lex has the makings to one day make a great plot for an episode of Criminal Minds.

I'm not being a criminal by talking to people... I don't get what is with you guys. I understand that I'm going against the flow of society but that's not criminal.

71k isn't that much..not to put you in the circles where women are coming to you. That is middle class.

If you want to choose, they have to come to you. Talking to thousands of girls and only getting 2 to kinda be a friend is not successful and I highly doubt that will change even if you talk to a million girls.

It's more than most people my age.



I haven't talked to thousands yet. I've talked to about 400-500, and the majority don't want to make conversation. It is changing... I get a couple decent phone numbers every day now and I used to get none. Other people who are good at this say it takes at least 6 months to get decent, if you aren't a natural. I met one girl and we made out on a bench in the daylight 30 minutes later. She was hot too. I don't completely suck. Meeting strangers is very difficult and I would like to see other people try it.

I didn't say 71k isn't good for your age, I said it's not rich enough to get the "thousands" of women flocking to your side. Concentrating on making money would probably be far easier than doing what you are doing. Then, in the meantime, you could mature and get on a med regimen that might make things better for you to not have panic attacks and psychotic episodes.

I am doing exactly what my psychiatrist recommends. Also talking to tons of girls slowly makes me more socially savvy and it is the fastest way. I can date the girls I talk to... my chances of getting rich are minimal anyways. I didn't say "thousands" would flock to my side, but I will interact with that many, even if it's just a few phrases back and forth.
