I think Crispin Glover would do great as the Riddler.

I think that for Christopher Nolan's Batman series of movies, they should just retire the Joker character....and just pay homage to him in the third film.

Like, a random scene in the middle of the movie, Bruce Wayne is flipping a joker card in his hand, or something small like that...done tastefully.

Nolan states, definitively, that the Joker will NOT return.

That's not surprising at all. I'm fairly certain that the Joker would have been in Batman 3 if Ledger didn't off himself, but since he did, things would have to change.

I expect a potential homage, maybe Ledger's laugh played in the background of arkham. Since ledger did such an amazing job no one else can fill his shoes anytime soon.

I still say Hamill would have been better than Ledger was.

I agree that Hamill would have been better. And the problem isn't that no one will be a better Joker than Ledger was, it's just from now on, anyone they try to replace him with will try to imitate his performance and ultimately come up short.

Yup, they would have to play HIM, not the Joker. I think eventually they'll "reboot" the character, but it won't be for quite awhile.

If they do reboot the character they should at least give it until Batman 6 or 7...if that. And it shouldn't be a replacement, possibly just another psycho obsessed with the joker trying to be like him, but equally ruthless and intelligent. Not a replacement, though.... I always think it is cheesy when they have new actors play an old character, I was pissed when Katie Holmes wasn't in the second one. The other chick is fugly....but what can you do, Tom Cruise f**ked it up.

There are so many other characters to explore...the Joker was already given justice in the movie...so lets just move on completely. It would be disrespectful to Ledger to get a "replacement"

Yeah, I figure it will be the next time they "reboot" the series. Ten years or so.

We will see if this movie can break the dreaded Third Comic Movie curse. I have my doubts.

I really liked Tom Hardy in Inception.

Is Nolan still directing? If yes then I would give it better then 50% chance of being awesome. Depends how much executive meddling from higher up you get. "we need more representation of product X and minority Y, include them!"
