I use Comic Sans, Alot :D

Actually, I primarily use it in my IM client and occasionally when labeling command buttons for an app I'm coding for personal use. For everything professional, I use Arial.

The meme pics thread linked in that is worth a read, too. Several I hadn't seen that are quite good.

After I received a document to beautify that was 90% written in Comic Sans, I ***** to my COO, threatening to shoot the next person who used that damnable font. My boss sent out the following email:

Quote:
Good afternoon.

I had a conversation where the subject of font choices was used as a blunt object to induce pain. Now I won’t say that I understand the world of design let alone LA but it is safe to say that designers, especially those from LA, are particular about fonts. So I would ask everyone that likes to fancy themselves creative to look at the following URL when selecting a font.

Enjoy.

They only thing I don't necessarily agree with is the dig on Times New Roman. There's a reason it's pretty much default for every word processor on the planet: the MLA and APA require that manuscripts be submitted in TNR.

TNR is a great font and there's a reason it is so prevalent. That said, it's only great for printed materials. General rule of screen reading is to say no-no to serif fonts - hence the rise in popularity of Helvetica, Verdana and the like. The only time I'd use TNR on a website is if it's over-sized and being used as a heading.

I like Georgia a bit more than TNR. Papyrus, Comic Sans and Rosewood make me want to punch babies.

My font hatred is generally reserved for Comic Sans and Algerian.

So. much. H9.

There are other bad ones as well, of course, but those are my ragepoints.

Garamond > TNR.

TNR is narrow and bland and not all that easy to read.

Ah, a fellow Comic Sans hater! I myself am a staunch Garamond/Georgia man, and for some reason fonts without serifs really bother me (Arial I can stand, though).

So you're in favor of the Sans fonts, Müs?
