Another thing I had forgot about ... the rant forum, which may do me some good at the moment.

I pissed a friend of mine off. To make this easier, I'll call my friend Ann. Ann and a mutual acquaintance of ours, Jess, were going out with a group from work. I told her she should have a good time and that the group she was going out with was a good bunch of guys and that Jess was cool. Jess is also a good friend of my roommate's and his wife's and mentioned she was coming over dinner the following night. This prompted an angry response that went, "I've known Jess for over two years and have been on her team for over a year. I'll think what I think." Confused, I asked for further explanation and got back pretty much the same thing but she added that she wasn't in the mood to explain it further. Apparently, that was my cue to shut up. I missed it and kept talking which has earned me the silent treatment for the past couple of weeks.

She's finally talking to me again... sort of. I've apologized although I'm not really sure what it was that I did wrong besides continue to talk when I was apparently supposed to go quiet which is why she says she got pissed. It's a guy thing, we try and fix stuff. I think there is more to it then that. Personally, I think she got jealous that Jess was coming over for dinner but she denies it.

Our work schedule is hell and we're in different divisions and work different hours so it's hard to find a moment to talk to her one on one. I'm frustrated and tired of kissing *** but honestly don't want to give up either. I don't call many people my friend and she's one of the few I have here. Grrrrrr ... this is all very annoying.

Rant over.

Ugh. I've got a friend who's been in a feud with my step-brother for a couple years. My brother and I only have a vague notion over why, and it's entirely one-sided -- my step-brother has no clue why he stopped talking to him. Friend has zero interest in talking about it, too. I agree, that kind of thing is annoying, and frustrating.

I cooked her chili and dropped it off for her before heading down to my area. That seemed to work. One her co-workers thanked me. Said she has been a bear since this all started and advised that when they came in to work yesterday, she was in a good mood. Chili is the cure to all the world's problems.

I'm glad you posted this, I've been under the impression that this sort of drama bullshit was exclusively female.

Well, as best we (my brother and I) can tell, it's *over* a female, if that helps. One who's now in another state and engaged, last I heard, after breaking up with my step-brother.
