Good point. How about "people are like multi-layered non-specific fruit/vegetable?"

More along the lines of peeling back layers...not eating them. Wrong analogy.

Parfait has layers. And you have to dig down through them to get a representative sample of each part.

Yeah but we're talking about people. We want to "peel back their layers" to get to know them, not devour them! Right?

So today I skipped out of work early to get extra hours of talking to people... I need to get this stuff down ASAP. Anyways I tried being high energy. It was fun, but my results sucked as expected! I guess I just have so much experience being low-key that it's more effective... but I can see more potential in being high energy. Besides, it's part of my natural personality so I need to get used to it with strangers. I should be comfortable with expressing my full range of behavior.

Wow... I gave a girl my email last night and she actually emailed me. This pickup was different because I tried being really animated instead of all serious. This in turn led her to being really animated, which is rare for me to see in girls I meet. I think it is actually working to be more fun and less intense.

Hi Alex,

It was nice to meet you last night. Sorry that I didn't give you my number yesterday, but I've learned the hard way that I really benefit from some time to think and pray about things a bit first. Thanks for being understanding of that.

Anyway, after doing just that last night, if you are still interested in hanging out, feel free to be in touch. It'd be great to chat and get to know you. For now, email is best, but don't worry, I check my email a LOT (...probably way too much actually).

Welcome to Somerville, btw! It's definitely a great place to live.

Best,

Marlene

I wonder if somewhere there's a forum post that goes "Wow! I met this guy and I tried being really animated instead of my usual psychotic self..."

It seems I will no longer be going to Harvard Square. My perpetual antics on the trains over the last 3 months have garnered some negative attention. Yesterday I was idling around Harvard Square when a transit employee approached me and warned that the police are coming. Apparently a few of the hundreds of girls I talked to decided it was a police emergency. I was going to wait for the police, but the employee said I should leave immediately and use the buses instead. So I left before the police came. It isn't criminal at all to talk to girls, but this is Massachusetts. I never used any language that could be viewed as harassment.

Furthermore, the homeless are becoming increasingly obnoxious and scary. One got really mad at me when I wouldn't take a piss test for him. He is on parole and still uses drugs, and was hoping to use my urine for the test. I've had to constantly watch my back from the other homeless people as well. It's just not worth it anymore.

Yesterday after I left Harvard Square, I searched the hot spots of Boston for other good places. Fanueil Hall seems like a great place to go.

See, this is just a real life version of faction ;)

After so much douchebaggery, you finally ground your rep from indifferent to the verge of "A Transit Employee glares at you threateningly".

Get the **** out of there before its "A Massachusetts Police Officer scowls at you, ready to attack"

Tonight at the train station I met a really cute girl. Sat next to her on the train, got her number, got off the train, texted back and forth, ice cream date set up for Sunday. I just acted myself... no enthusiasm or anything since I wasn't in the mood.

**** you, metro police. **** off and die.

LOL.

This asian girl writes too much... I think something is wrong with her. She wants me to call her, which is total BS. I am just not comfortable with calling girls I don't know. Not sure how to handle this.

My reply
Spoiler:
Hi Marlene,

I'm glad you emailed me! I had a lot of fun meeting you. Sorry that I haven't responded earlier but I was pretty busy at work. That's no problem about the number thing. It makes sense to me.

What would you like to chat about? Right now I'm watching Pranked on MTV and it's kinda amusing. I'm really tired and I spent about 15 minutes thinking of something else to write, but I'm all blank. Write me back =).

Her emails back
Spoiler:
Hi Alex,

Haha when I said email was best, I'm sorry-- what I had meant was, reach me so that we can hang out in person! I totally did not expect for you to sayL ok, yeah, cool, let's have a gmail chat, but anyway.. I have to say, I'm pretty excited you wrote me back! I figured I scared you away. No worries, I understand you being busy at work though. Are you free tomorrow or this weekend sometime? I'm pretty free, save Sat. afternoon-- I'm going to some farm in MA which was planned a long time ago.

Marlene

p.s. this is kinda dumb... eventually I was going, but I thought maybe after I met you another time? but you know what.. whatever, it's: ***-***-****

I just didn't want to give it out at first in case I decided you might be really strange & then I would have to change my number or something! Which hasn't happened yet before actually, but I could imagine it might. Let's just say I have a wild imagination.

But just beware, I have no text plan. A text occasionally is fine, but call is better if you can actually talk. I'm usually up pretty late (funny because tonight was exceptional-- I went to bed rather early and woke up just now 13 min after you emailed, talk about good timing again?)...anyway, I don't mind being woken up, but you can always text to check if that worries you. Not sure if you are still awake now.
