I've personally never met a person that wasn't like this. Ever, actually. That doesn't mean they aren't out there, but the chances are, you'll never meet them because they are so rare. Regardless of that, there's no reason to end it. I honestly don't see why everyone must always have human contact. Life is so much easier and simpler when you don't have to deal with other people all the time.

Think of it this way: You know the majority of people are going to be selfish assholes. In this, you know what to expect from people. And if it seems like someone is not going to fit this mold, watch them very closely. Don't let your guard down too early. Some will try to gain your trust just to **** you over. I should know, it's happened to me too many times to count. I've since stopped trying and my life has been a lot less stressful now that I don't have any real friends to worry about backstabbing me.

They exist, they lie to guys too, and some of them are very very good at it. You will not know they are lying unless something goes very wrong for them. If you continue to believe that you won't be watching for it when the little things start not adding up and BAM you're betrayed and hurting and probably broke or missing something valuable to you. The difference is they aren't lying to get between your legs.

What was **** up was always choosing the wrong people to put my trust in. It's a skill I have. Believe me, not trusting anyone to be a real friend is a lot better than trusting the wrong person.

You can tell who someone is when you see them interact with others.

Someone who will lie to others will lie to you, etc.

Another way is to watch how they are with folks they are served by but don't know. My X used to treat janitors and cashiers and such with pretty much a disdainful attitude when things didn't go her way. If I knew then what I know now, that would have set off all SORTS of alarms. It should have then, too, since I've spent my time as a janitor when in college after the military. Some folks treat you as invisible... those are the ones you can't trust. Others will see you, smile and say "Hi" and stuff... I'm not saying that you can trust them implicitly but it's points in their favor.

There are good folks in this world, but they don't usually get the same amount of PR as the assholes.

If you find yourself looking down at someone 'cause they may be a few pounds over weight... not as pretty... they may be not dressed as well as others, or if they have jobs that don't earn as much as yours, you may also want to look in a mirror and see who looks back. Birds of a feather and all that, you know.
