Hey, I need some good tunes to scrub floors and toilets to. I like alternative/original/Indie/Americana/lesbian music.

Like: The Story by Brandi Carlile and Can't Let Go by Lucinda Willimams and Silent All These Years by Tori Amos and Samson by Regina Spektor

Beautifully - Jay Brannan seems to fit the theme.

Ok Hop, that was a good song, but it made me want to play too so I put my capo on the fifth like he did and got distracted and started writing a song....
Gonna try the next one on the list and see how well that works for loading the dishwasher.

I'd say that I win.

Ok, Flirtin' With Disaster and Fall of The Peacemakers got me through the dishes...so Molly Hatchet was motivating, but not really my thing....but the dishes got done, so that counts.
Mississippi Queen got me through washing the poop out of the birdcage and all the little cups and nooks and crannies...the humor was not lost, I assure you.
Let's see how good Rocky Mountain Way is for toilet scrubbing...maybe throw in that AC/DC after all and see if the Camel was right.
FarSky, dunno if SplishSplash could be a cleaning song...maybe I'll try that one when I clean the tub out. :D

Rocky Mountain Way was good for bathroom sink and counter cleaning and since I was in a groove I played the song again while I scrubbed the toilet.
AC/DC got my adrenaline going (a lil too much maybe) and I cleaned the shower and the grout. Splish Splash played while I did some tub scrubbing but the song wasn't long enough so I had to play it twice.
Gonna give Aethien and Raf's suggestions a try now.

How 'bout "Send me on my way" by Rusted Root? (aka "the Ice Age song" according to my kids)

"Ecstasy" by RR is also a good one to get ya moving.

Well I don't know about specifically for cleaning since I normally pop in my netflix disk and put on Mythbusters (what better way to clean your toilet than by listening to Mythbusters blowing one up ;) ), but Antigone Rising fits as far as that type of music, alternative, all girl mostly lesbian band and are really good.

Ok I really should have known better, hahaha! I listened to the Lil John song while I took the clothes out of the dryer, put another load in, and started the washer...and the song was still playing while I swept and mopped the bathroom floor.
Keep in mind that I live in the MIDDLE OF THE GHETTO and I was blaring this song loud enough to rattle the windows. More than a little funny...but the song actually made me nauseous so booooo! Note to self: Loud gangsta rap is a no-go for morning sickness!
I put on the Sleater-Kenney song while I swept the hallway but after the Lil John thing I was just ready for some peace and quiet.
Time to take a break and wait for the morning sickness to subside....
I still have to clean the counters in the kitchen, clean the oven, sweep and mop in there, finish the laundry, sweep the bedrooms and cook dinner.
I'll try the other suggestions in a few minutes.

Is it morning sickness at 3 in the afternoon?

The Rusted Root song was quite nice. Good song to sweep the kitchen floor to.
Couldn't find "ecstasy"...who is RR?
Antigone Rising was pretty cool...unfortunately I couldn't find anything that wasn't a live recording except for one song (Don't Look Back) but I enjoyed it while I cleaned the fridge out.
Nightwish Phantom of The Opera and Cadence of Her Last Breath were pretty decent songs to wash and scrub out the shelves in the fridge.

And now, I am officially worn out. Thanks for all the help with the housecleaning you guys! :D

PS---Kaffis, morning sickness is a misnomer...it's 24/7 sickness. :( I tend to be fine in the morning and progressively more and more nauseous and barfy from afternoon to evening. Evening sickness mebbe? ;)

Personally I am fan of "chillout" (sub-genre of techno, much more downbeat/downtempo electronica) when performing chores. Very relaxing yet invigorating.

I recommend Delerium and William Orbit ("Flowers Become Screens" and "Water From A Vine Leaf" especially and respectively).

I like acoustic guitar music without any vocals for much the same reason Numbuk likes chillout...relaxing yet invigorating. Artists like John Fahey and Leo Kotke (old school) to more modern guitar beaters like Andy McKee, Antoine Dufour, Thomas Leeb, and Erik Mongrain.
Here's a trio of favorites:
