The problem with calling it a man-purse is, what do you call it when a female is carrying it ?

BTW Shel, I was looking at the companies website, I think the 'tech bag' might be in my future. I could see that coming in handy...

I honestly don't see a reason to carry so much crap. When I leave, I have my phone, my wallet, a pocket knife and my keys.

I got a backpack from my contract agency for Christmas and started carrying a bunch of stuff I'd never bothered with before. I got used to having the stuff with me but hated the backpack because it was too large to be practical, so I downsized. I'm still carrying things that don't get used on a regular basis, but I feel more comfortable having them with me and carrying stuff in a bag is more convenient than loading/unloading my pockets.

Other than the regular OCD stuff..

So let's say that I have to assemble something.
It comes with a bag of bolts.
Right now I need two of the bolts.
I open the bag and three fall out.
Which two do I use?
Do I take the first two?
Will the third one be left out?
What if the third one had a destiny with the first one?
Am I condemning two items to be together that shouldn't be or am I acting the part of harmony and making the world better?
I control their fate.
I AM A GOD.

This happens anytime I need two of something and have more than two.

I have a hard time eating/drinking after other people. I gotta wipe utensils and drink openings off before indulging myself.

Along those same lines, I feel compelled to get new silverware, dishes and cups every time I eat the same food I just ate earlier (been trying to ween myself off of this tho, because I hate doing dishes).

I hate it when people mis-pronounce words (other than for humor): Like when someone says "Ree-see" instead of "Ree-sus" for the candy cups, or "Worshuster" instead of "Wor-chester-shire" sauce. Or we have a city in my state called Hurricane, that people insist on calling "Hurri-kin."

Somewhat similarly, I can't stand "cutesy" abbreviations for things like: X-mas, Turkey Day, Ho Ho (instead of Santa), Wooshy sauce (instead of Worcestershire sauce), Horsey sauce (instead of Horseradish). I do like BJs, tho.

I prefer to be called "David" instead of "Dave", and don't even TRY to call me "Davey".

Oddly enough, my entire family (parents and siblings) calls me "Dave" and I never notice. My wife pointed that out. I notice when I'm called "Dave" by folks I'm not related to... I don't care, really, just prefer to be called "David".

Freud would probably have an opinion.

I can relate to that. In a professional setting I preferred to be called by my full name, Katrina. In an intimate setting...friends, kids, husband, etc I preferred to be called Katie.
Anyone from my childhood (siblings, aunts & uncles, etc) all call me Kate and I'm ok with that.

I'm 40 and still play video games--and not just the "cool" and socially acceptible games like Madden or Guitar Hero or Farmville, but nerdy ones with make believe creatures like fairies, elves and eskimos.

It is hard to create a viable nickname for her real name. Not impossible, just difficult. She would also have to accept it, and I think the biggest problem for giving her a nickname lies there.

Also, I'm with David and Katrina. I don't like people mangling my given name. But strangely, I'm ok with changes to my nick.

I rarely answer to the two different nicknames commonly used for my given name, but answer to Keith when so addressed by one of our retired annuitants. It is her husband's name and I resemble him (I've seen pictures). She's very good at what she does, but sometimes her focus wanders.
