Good try, but you're late to the shaming-me-for-knowing-more-English-than-you party.

Ah, then it WAS pretentious posturing!

I was leaning that way, to tell the truth.

Uh - just for the record, I don't remember any "ethical issues", nor any particular specifics. I just remember that your modding aggravated me a bit.

"Ethics" as a subject is actually incredibly difficult. Well, most of it is very easy - where it aligns with basic morality, but the other stuff is not so clear cut.

Oh, I remember now. I got a warning from you for telling someone to lighten up. Yup, not a fan.

So because you got a warning that you didn't think you deserved, you think his modding was bad overall.

That's an umm.... mature, non-self centered opinion to have?

Self centered? Sure. But really, how good could he be if he throws around warnings for "lighten up"? ;)

If multiple people complained/reported the post, and all he did was warn you? What's the problem? You didn't get banned, suspended, your posts edited or deleted. You upset someone (obviously) and got a warning.

Now, if you had told *him* to lighten up and he'd warned you, that would be a completely different scenario.

Nope. Nobody complained. Anyway, doesn't matter if they did, a warning for "lighten up" means you lose.

Following that logic, moderating debates you're a part of twice over the course of a month means you lose as well.

Actually, that logic pretty much means every mod we've ever had loses.

I think they've all moderated stuff they shouldn't have at some point.

That was my point.

To say someone "loses" as a mod because of one or two bad moderation decisions is a pointless argument. Over time, every mod will (and has) done exactly that.

If you want perfection, write a computer program :-P

Let me tell folks how it would break down, so you understand. By the way, you can see evidence of this very thing right here in the thread.

I would be in an argument with DFK. I would say something that DFK thought impugned his honor or his ethics or something. He would demand that I do something like take it back, or apologize. He did all of this with black ink.

When I refused, or when I stood by my guns, he would then change his ink color and come at me as a moderator. If I didn't obey him, he would then take action. He didn't care if I was breaking the rules. He only cared that I was being critical of him as a person, and he was willing to use his red ink to threaten or punish me as a result.

In this thread, he called me a coward because I was posting in a place that was open and unregulated. In other words, what he wants me to do is expose myself to regulation for stating my opinions. It's not that he has a point, it's that he's terrified that his abuse of power is being aired in a place where I'm not going to be punished for being honest about it.

When DFK was a moderator, he had a huge double standard. I got in trouble for literally cutting and pasting an attack from another poster, and simply switching the names around. The other mods backed each other's hands, and then it became clear. The purpose for the moderation wasn't to moderate the board, it was to get rid of me.

Others have said as much while I was gone (Coro, I think?). The bias on that mod staff was extreme, and DFK was hands down the worse offender.

Say what you will about who you will, but you were moderated because you got reported more than anyone else on the board combined. Don't get it twisted.

Oh look, Farther is back. He's like Batman, very enigmatic and very up to speed on this issue in a brief span of time.

I'm actually here regularly, I just don't log in unless I have something to say. "Hellfire" is best taken in small doses, in my opinion, but hardly the only forum I read. I'm hoping no one finds that offensive.

And that you apparently caught on quickly. Not so quickly that you don't know that asking for a link will be ignored, but still.

And alluding to the idea that you might be someone who used to post here but just came back under a pseudonym.
