Me: "I want to see Scott Pilgrim vs The World."
Co-worker: "Isn't that the guy from Superbad?".
Me: "I don't know, I didn't see that movie"

We proceed to look it up on IMDB where we discover that not only was Michael Cera in both of these movies, he's credited in the upcoming Gilligan's Island movie.

Me: "Oh look, he's going to be Gilligan!".
Co-worker: "well, he's going to be *in* the movie, but it doesn't say what part he's going to play".
Me: "Well who else do you think he could be?"
Co-worker: "I don't know. I never watched Gilligan's Island, so I don't even know who the characters are"
Me: "Well, let's see. There's Gilligan, the Skipper too, a millionaire and his wife..."
Co-worker (interrupting): "I know the song, damn it!"

Very funny. He could be one of "... and the rest"! Hopefully not MaryAnn.

Ahh, you're thinking of a different version of the theme song than I. The one I know names all 7 characters:

Besides - "and the rest" seems kinda silly given that "the rest" consists entirely of the Professor and Mary Ann, doesn't it?

In the original song, the Professor and Mary Ann were referred to as "and the rest." Actors Russell Johnson and Dawn Wells were originally considered "second-billed co-stars," but with the growing popularity of their characters, their names were inserted into the lyrics.

Did you know that you can sing Amazing Grace to the tune of Gilligan?

Also it can be sung to the tune of "House of the Rising Sun."
