Monty - wow, man. I said I had an issue with his moderation and I ponied up. Some disagreed with me, and that's fine (granted, my issue wasn't very significant). Just lay it out - some will disagree with you, but so what?

Maybe the gun is red because it's coated in blood?

Hey, where is Hannibal?

Word.

And the thing is, that precipitated the first rule-change of the forum by removing the line-item I chastised you for, which in the end I felt was a good change.

Micheal, Müs, Montegue.

All left or were banished in a two-day period.

I can't imagine this bodes well for the continued prosperity of the Glade.

I'm pretty sure Micheal and Arafys will be back eventually.

Hannibal....yeah he hasn't been on in almost a year. Sent him an email. Hope he's ok.

True, but Talya came back and I suspect we'll see Micheal and Arafys again before too long.

Arafys looks like he realized how much time he spent here and decided to go camping for a week.

To be honest the "I quit" threads remind me a lot of EQ. How many times per week did people used to make long speeches about quitting, walking away, etc only to return in about a week?

Müs is just on temporary hiatus as far as I know. I got the impression from this thread that it had more to do with personal issues than with anything specific to the Glade.

Micheal I'm still hoping will eventually cool off and come back, whether in a moderator capacity or not.

In the mean-time, Fyrfytr is back, and we've gained Farther (I hope). So it's not all as bad as it might look.

No, I expect Mus to return...sometime....

Micheal, I don't know about.

Monte's gone, presumably for good.

I'm glad to see Fyrfytr back, and I welcome Farther (despite the fact that I constantly think people are referring to me when I'm skimming and see a response to "Far..." :)). I just can't help but take notice of the fact that within two days, three of our oldest members are gone. Whether that speaks to our desire to not have them in the community anymore (Montegue), or have failed to present the community as a place for continued enjoyment and desire to remain (Mus and Micheal), the confluence of exits stage left just saddens me, and strikes me as perhaps symptomatic of underlying forces that may or may not be under our control.

We should lure them back in.
Somebody go hire some girls in bikinis and a big vat of jello or pudding.

Hah, I remember when I finally quit EQ. I made sure to give all my stuff away and delete things that couldn't be traded to make sure I didn't have a reason to come back.

Except Monte left for quite a while in there, and when he came back blatantly said that he had no interest in being part of the community other than occasional trolling.

Quite a different category than Mike or Arafys.

The ethical course would have been for him to recuse himself from moderating and refer it to one of the others.

Micheal's actions were only reprehensible to the most minor degree. It ended with the thread being locked and nobody warned. It is a non-issue.

I think you were very insensitive in writing this post. You should have a more thoughtful opinion before accusing a moderator of ill-will. In fact this post itself is much more reprehensible than Micheal's actions.

I find it unfortunate that he found this reason to leave, but I can pass no judgement since I don't know the facts of his personal life. Perhaps this was the straw the broke the camel's back. I hope he returns.

I disagree. Shuyung is making a perfectly polite, valid, and ethically correct point.

Calling it "abuse" isn't exactly polite. It's nearly trolling.

Seeing as he's jumped from "Victim Card" posts to these thoughtful, well written posts in each section, I'd say something about his mental state has suddenly changed as of this morning.

Either that, or he's being sarcastic.

How so? If shuyung believes it to be an abuse of authority it is aptly named.
