Good film for a made for TV flick. If the production value had been higher and more care given to the script it would have been excellent. As is it gets a C-

Undead -
Aussie movie, tries sooooo hard to be campy and fails. Nothing worth seeing in this mess.

I sell the Dead
Good comedy about graverobbers.

Last House on the Left
Awful film. I was expecting serial killer creepiness instead of the torture-porn I got.

Side-note: Netflix needs to fix their gorram genre-categorization. More than half the stuff I've gotten is not horror.

Just streamed American Werewolf In London last night. Haven't seen it in about 15 years, and it was on the big screen at the time (midnight movie at a local theater). Good flick.

Edit: I remember wondering at the time, and I wondered again last night: With all the classic songs used in the movie where was Warren Zevon's song?

Watched Levithan, a 1980's monster movie with an all star b-movie cast.

A team of deep sea miners on a station are attacked by a monster. Good squishy practical effects, before everything went CGI.

Cast includes peter weller from Robocop, and winston from Ghostbusters.

If I remember correctly, they couldn't get the rights.

Watched Horror of Dracula (1958) last night. The first of the Hammer Dracula films, and starring the great Christopher Lee as the dread count himself. Very British, very good, particularly if (like me) you miss horror films of a higher class.

I still believe Alien is one of the scariest movies of all time. (I'm not saying it's better than Aliens, because it's not. It is, however, scarier than Aliens.)

In my mind, Alien is a horror film, and Aliens is an Action Flick.

Really, this. I love love love love love the Alien films, particularly the first two (though honestly, I like Resurrection better than 3). The first is more horror, really a haunted house movie (in space!). The second is balls-to-the-wall action.

Alien works because of the primal fear of a monster throat-raping you and making you pregnant.

The Crazies:

Good film, had some good scary parts. Very relatable as well. Too much daylight for my taste but overall I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Original or Remake?

I've watched the remake, and the original is waiting (I started watching, but was pulled away). I thought the remake was worth watching, but the opening scene in the original holds great promise for the rest.

Sorry, it was the remake.

Not a very good vampire movie. Not even remotely scary, had a lot of potential but decided to go a different route. Felt excrutiatingly preachy.

A campy yet fun Vampire movie that also has Bruce Campbell as a descendant of Van Helsing: "Sundown - The Vampire in Retreat." I haven't seen it in years but remember enjoying it.

Edit: Oh yeah, David Carradine is the main vampire. :D

How have I not seen this!? Added to Netflix as number 1.

Well, I may have to put a big warning on there in case your imaginations are running wild at the possibilities.

The town that the movie takes place in is basically a town full of nothing but vampires, and they are vampires who just want to live in peace and forsake being the killers that their instincts want them to be. Carradine is the leader (if I remember right) of this peaceful vampire movement.

Bruce Campbell, being a descendent of Van Helsing, is there to infiltrate the colony and try to destroy them. He's less "Ash" and more "Autolycus" if I remember right.

The main threat comes from a splinter group of vampires who don't want to try and live peacefully with humans, and want nothing to do with Carradine's ways.

But, like I said, I enjoyed this flick.

So I am now watching through ALL of the Friday the 13th movies again to get into the Halloween spirit.

I so have a hard time watching anything after #3.

Next will be my Nightmare on Elm Street collection.

Jason lives is hilarious, and I actually liked The New Blood (at least, I remember liking it.) Looks like they only have parts 1-6 up on watch now, strange that they don't have 7 or 8.

Really sad that they only have the Original Nightmare on Elm Street, none of the sequels on Watch Now.
