Meet Brown Eyed Susan. She's a primitive Mammy who loves to cook her world famous fried chicken! Before there was the White Hen Pantry, there was the Black Chicken Kitchen, where susan made THE BEST fried Chicken in all of Salem, MA! Well, in this little ditty anyway. If you've never heard of her, that's because I made it up and she's a doll.
Her body and clothing is made of muslin. The body was painted, sanded and covered with brown shoe polish to give it a leathery feel and distressed look. No, the polish does not come off when handled. Her teeth and lips were hand sculpted with polymer clay which was hardened by baking and then painted with acrylic paints. Her handmade, distressed tag is signed by me. Vintage ADs adorn her dress which were transferred to cloth.
More dolls of this nature to come. Smaller ones as there is a LOT of work that goes into primitives.
Shipping is on me. Thank you for checking out our work at Mad Martineau's Mayhem.
DISCLAIMER: This doll is not meant for children. It is for display purposes only. My dolls are not for everyone, they are not the "norm" and I know that. That's why I make them.
