Yeah, that's right, Rynar let himself get chubby. He started getting less exercise, and as he got older, his metabolism slowed down, but he still insisted on eating like a teenager. Constantly surrounded by yummy foodstuffs at work, he got into the habit of over sampling everything, and justified it by adopting the phrase, "Never trust a skinny chef."

So Rynar, at the insistence of his woman, stepped onto a scale, and became disgusted with himself.

He joined the gym, and started working out for the first time in way way too long two days ago.

Rynar is sore.

Keep going. If you're not dreading it, you're not working hard enough.

Especially at the sprints.

My question is when Rynar started referring to himself in the third person...

Dude, you already look like Dimebag. Why do you want to mess with that? That's cool enough.

Thanks, man. It really is amazing the things we stop doing when we allow our scheduals to control us, rather than us contrlling our scheduals.

This has never been an issue for me. I love exercising. I look forward to it. Especially the feeling of complete fatigue and muscle failure at the end of a workout that lets me know I've earned it. Sprints are no longer a good option for me anymore, however. I did a good amount of damage to my ankles and knees playing football in college, and have to get cortisone in them semi regularly without putting that kind of stress on them. What I do instead is ride a bicycle.

When Rynar decided to get his sexy back. Any further questions on the issue should be refered to Rynar's people. Rynar doesn't do interviews.

I've gotten to be bigger than a Dimebag. I think you'll have to start calling me "Half Ounce".

I'm interested to watch this story. What are your exact goals, I'm curious?

I'd like to get down to about 240 lbs. I weighed 255 in college, and was less than 10% body fat at the time; however I carried around a ton of extra muscle, as I was working out about 6-8 hours a day including practice. Since I no long had the need of that much mass, I allowed much of it to atrophy. I feel 240 is now attainable at 12-15% body fat. Right now I am in the neiborhood of 310 lbs. I hadn't even realized I had put on so much, because I have a massive frame, and it disguses alot of the weight.

Really, the overall goal is to change to a healthier lifestyle, and maintain it through diet and regular exercise.

How tall are you? At 255 I was a balloon. I'm down to about 207 now and I still need to drop.. and I'm not a skinny-build kind of guy to begin with.

Oh well at least you aren't referring to yourself as "The" Rynar.

So here's what I've been doing, now that I'm a week in. I've cut my alchohol intake down to one day/week. I usually enjoy a few glasses of bourbon after dinner while I read, and then once a week me and the old lady go out together, and that almost always involves a good night of partying. I'm down to the one night. In addition I have given up eating after 9, and anything after 7 has to be salad. (again, except on date night)

As far as excercize goes I've been doing 1 1/2 hours on the bike and a 30 minute walking cool down on the tread mill every day. I lift weights three days/week. Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, I haven't refined my program yet, so I'll post that once I do. I lost 8 lbs. this week, and I've very satisfied so far.

8 pounds is a great start and that added activity should certainly keep you on the right path. You do your lifting at home or do you head out to a gym?

Another four pounds gone.

Also, I have to say I'm fairly surprised at how much of my strength I still have. I'm no where near as strong as I used to be, but I am still able to do 17 reps at 225 on the benchpress.
