Funny thing about citing sources...
When I write a post on the Glade, I am keenly aware of some very important details that perhaps I should fill the rest of you in on.
You guys are not going to read the entire post, let alone any sources I might have. None of you are the least bit interested in anything so highbrow as academic integrity, which makes citing sources so as to avoid plagiarism a moot point. I am not writing a research paper when I post here.
I ran across this about six months ago when we had that thread on the upcoming scarcity of liquid helium. I started looking up some numbers so that I could model an MRI in a circuit simulator to explain why you couldn't just let them run at a higher temperature when I realized that I was getting ready to do a few thousand dollars worth of consulting work that none of you were going to pay me for. Not only was I not going to get paid, but nobody would have read it. Big fat waste of my time, so I didn't do it. <- This is the part you can omit in order to pretend Khross wrote this post.
There is a very sharp difference between not accepting things at face value - demanding proof and supporting evidence - and stubborn ignorance. I'm giving this stuff out for free. If you don't want to take my word for it, then don't. That's not my problem, and I'm sure as hell not going to go through all the work to write a well-researched article just so you **** can skim over it, quote one line, and continue spouting the same retarded bullshit. **** you. You're not getting it.
LMAO - you're not even paying attention. What, exactly, are you complaining about?
What I was making fun of from Khross's post was the EXACT opposite of what you are saying here. He didn't make a point and fail to provide a source, he provided a source and failed to say anything. Which, you'll note, is what I did above in a tongue-in-cheek mockery. The funniest part? You illustrated my point brilliantly by not understanding the point I was trying to make with just a link and no discussion.
Anyway, lighten up, bro - if you don't want to cite a source, nobody's going to blame you. I'd be the first to say I'm not going to spend a lot of time on a topic I don't care that much about. But, see, here's the thing: If you don't back up your statements, that's fine, but why does that justify you complaining about other people for not a) reading some past post that they may not have cared about, or b) not believing what you say? If it's not important enough for you to address your doubter's concerns, then let them be doubters. Who gives a ****?
