Thirteen adults and five juveniles have been arrested as part of an investigation into the alleged rape of a Texas girl, police said.

Darrell Broussard, assistant police chief for the Cleveland, Texas, police department, said Monday that the investigation into the incident "is continuous," with more significant developments possible. Cleveland is about 50 miles northeast of Houston.

"There have been leads during our investigation that have alerted us to other possible persons of interest," Broussard told CNN. "The investigation is ongoing."

The 18 individuals charged thus far are between 14 and 27 years old, he said.
On Friday, the Cleveland police department announced that four students in the Cleveland independent school district had been arrested on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14.

CNN only mentions race/gender and party affiliation in regards to crime if it meets the White/male/or Republican marker. Anything else is meerly "the accused"

An 11 year old girl!? Determine who's guilty, then slit their throats and be done with it.

I don't think most rape survivors consider their lives "ruined". In fact many go on to live happy lives.

You claimed it first that her life is ruined. That is a positive assertion not backed by evidence. Please show that having PTSD means your life is "ruined". Please show her chances of getting this condition.

You need to work on your reading comprehension. "I'm sure" is a standard phrased used when discussing opinion.

The only positive assertion is yours, that identifies "many" children gang raped by 18 people go on to live happy lives.



This does not discuss gang rape, it focuses on PTSD, which is not the only problem associated with the gang rape of a child. There can be damage, including that to the reproductive system preventing pregnancy or child birth, there can be neurological development issues, including seizures and other neurological developmental problems, and there can be damage to internal organs if treatment was severe. Admittedly, I'm going out on a limb by assuming that treatment was severe, but I don't think I'm going too far out there.

Many adults can not have children and I don't think their lives are ruined. I find it highly unlikely that her internal organs were damaged or that she will get seizures. I don't think you can be "sure" about this. Basically nothing gives evidence that her life was ruined.
