God how pathetic that is. After far too many traitors on both sides of the aisle willingly sold out our national sovereignty, it's now Obama and the democrats in power who wish to place their own political power above everything else - that is increasing their own voter base, and trying to appear as 'compassionate and fair' and not racists by allowing millions of human beings who have willingly chosen to break the laws of another nation with their only pathetic defense being accusing that nation of being racist, which actually works because unfortunately said nation has become far too cowardly and irrational, i.e. politically correct, to even understand the concept of national sovereignty.
Look, from our perspective many of us would probably want to see China's society changed to a more democratic and capitalistic system, but we have no say, and we have no right, to force such change. If millions of Americans could somehow flood into China illegally, breaking their laws, showing no respect for their culture, all under the auspices of 'we need work to survive and to support our family so you must let us in', as plausible on a basic human level as that does seem, and I can empathize with it, it's simply impractical and will eventually if taken too far lower the standard of living for all and more importantly degrade the culture of that society (and no it has nothing to do with race) It doesn't really matter whether the illegal immigration comes from Mexico or Poland - the result will inevitably be the same. Maybe the result will be reached quicker as the disparity between the two cultures is greater, but that has nothing to do with some silly bias against an ethnicity or religion or whatever other categorization some may still cling to, or whatever weak defense some may still give to defend the illegal behavior of others.
No sovereign nation should nor can allow unlimited unchecked illegal immigration from any other nation if it truly wishes to retain its shape and substance. It's physics really. Even though I may value this nation's ideals above China's, I would never be so arrogant as to support the massive illegal invasion and subsequent inevitable cultural change of China by millions of lawbreaking American citizens, even though the end result may better fit my specific ideology.
And if the argument is necessity, that these people are desperate and need to support their families, that they're doing exactly what we or anyone would do in a similar situation...you know what? You're right. I probably would too. But I would fully expect and have no defense against that nation that would kick my *** out of their country while telling me "we can't support all of you, we have our own problems!". And I'm sure many nations could actually absorb that influx for awhile....for awhile...but not indefinitely. And now's a great time to debate that of course, with over 10% unemployment, with now more laborers in need of jobs than there are jobs. It's all well and good when businesses are prospering and hurting for cheap labor, but now the labor can't even be cheap enough. We've hit bottom in that regard. Despite what many say, everything really is a zero-sum game at any given moment, which is the only real measure of things. The pie is always of a finite size, and there's only so much to go around. The U.S. cannot support the hundreds of millions of humans who I'm sure would love to immigrate here. This isn't Eden. There aren't enough resources.
