The Glade 4.0

Goji (Midgen), Grouse, and I dropped Zlandicar last night with our mercs! A good time was had by all, and we got Focus of Spirit for McDuff (Ranelagh) along with sundry other drops.

This was indeed a lot of fun. Getting to the bottom of Dragon Necropolis is a bit of a grind, with all of the traps and distractions along the way. In the end the encounter with the dragon made it all worth it.

I was surprised that Goji was able to land all of her dots and nukes (maybe one or two resists), so she wasn't a complete spectator.

I tried to grab a couple of screenshots while we were there, but had just finished building a new system and was not sure which keystroke to use. I tried to get one of the dragon den before we started with the UI off, and another trophy shot afterwards. I haven't had a chance to check if I was successful or not.

It's always fun to rummage through a dragon's hoard after those fights, even if the stuff is marginally useful.

The spell drops were pretty good, and a Cowl of Mortality dropped, which is a 36% haste hat (great for twinks methinks).

With rare items like Zlandicars Heart being 'placeable' in houses, it kinda brings some of the value back to them from a nostalgia perspective.

I have it on pretty good authority that neither of the two high-end guilds are farming Zlandicar at all, so if we want to go back for more cowls, or just for fun, we should be able to. I think he is a 7 day respawn, and is probably up after server restarts.

Cool deal.

You guys should put the Heart on display in our bar! Either that, or I can go ahead and get us a house to display trophies in.

I think Grouse has the Heart. I'm pretty sure he intended to display it in his LoN Thule House.

That will look absolutely awesome.

I need to run next-door and look at the Thule house next time I'm around, I haven't gotten to see the new design in action yet.

With my folks in town I am unlikely to be on until very late at best.

Derakor the Vindicator met his well-deserved end last night at the hand of Zyerne (me) Goji and Kirah (both Midgen). Derakor was a much tougher fight than Zlandicar was; he hit extremely hard and even with the vastly superior gear and AA that wasn't available in the Velious era he was a major challange.

The first pull resulted in a wipe when both cleric mercs ran OOM. We discovered he brings 2 buddies with him.

The second pull resulted in me dying trying to feign split the two buddies.

We have up on that and tried our third pull. This time we concentrated on the two adds first, and we got a third, light blue add behind us in the process. This worked fairly well, but when big D was at about 50% with all 3 adds dead, the clerics were starting to run low again. At this point I decided to drop Harm Touch on him. This did considerable damage, but resulted in me going from rampage tank to main tank which resulted in my untimely demise. Thankfully since I didn't release my cleric merc stayed up. Unfortunately, however, Kirah then became rampage tank and died as the clerics began to run out. By this time, however, Derakor was at 4% health and Kirah's cleric merc was able to keep the tank merc up just long enough for Goji to burn him down! A smashing, skin of the teeth win by Goji!



Dropped a spell, his head, his heart, and the boots. Sadly, the boots aren't what they used to be but they did at least give me a new color to dye my armor!

Yeah, you can't split the adds unless you use pathing tricks- they're linked to Vindi.

The night before last, Velketor the Sorcerer went down to a 2-group "raid" of me, Goji/Kirah, Tobi, and Grouse, and our mercs. Mercs can't be used in actual raids, so we did it the old-fashioned way with 2 independant groups.

More dragons died tonight. Zyerne and Goji/Kirah managed to find Gorenaire and (the real) Faydedar up. Both of them dropped an RBB. I passed one on the McHazzard to use to get him leveled up. Zyerne grabbed the other.

We also went to Dragon Necropolis hoping to get another Zlandicar kill in, or possibly find Vaniki holding a willsapper, but neither were up.

While we were there, all three of us turned in Zlandicar's Talismans and obtained Sleepers Tomb keys. I'm looking forward to my first warders farming run (ever). =)

Edit: heh, I just read that anyone level 55 can now enter Sleepers Tomb. Key is no longer needed.

Oh well. =)
