The Glade 4.0

Thank you all so much for your prayers and positive thoughts and encouraging/comforting comments over the past couple of weeks.

On Wednesday we said hello and goodbye to our daughter, Rebecca Lane Burchfield, who was born too soon. She was 1lb 8oz and just 4 days shy of viability....sadly, her lung tissue had not developed enough for there to be anything for the doctors to get her any oxygen and her heart stopped beating less than an hour after birth.

She was so beautiful. Looked just like her Daddy.







We are very very sad, we miss her very much.

Unlike when we lost our son, however, we actually had two weeks to say goodbye and spend time with her in my belly and feel her kicking and love on her before she left, so that has made a world of difference...we don't feel like she was ripped away from us, we feel like we fought for her life and did everything we could, but she just wasn't meant to stay....so there is a great deal of peace and comfort in that.

We have completely gone on faith since this whole ordeal began, and God has been so very good to us both. It's really been amazing how we have been carried through this with our daughter and we are so blessed to have such a close relationship with God.

We all know that words can't do much here, but I do want to say that I am glad you've both found some level of peace with what's happened, and like everyone else I'm very sorry you had to endure it.

An old friend of mine and his wife had this happen a few months ago, like almost the exact same situation as you all went through.

One of the suckiest feelings is seeing awful things like this happen to good people and not being able to do anything about it.

Although my religious views are not the same as yours, it is nice to see you keep your faith through all of this.
