They are awesome. They burst with so much flavor. The only problem I have with them is how addictive they are, so I try not to get them too often.

Zapp's are far better imo, although they're quite hard to find outside of South LA.

Amazon has just started carrying them by the case, I think.

Local brand, great flavors.

First time I had these was on a camping trip; we had been out all day, snacking on trail mix, etc. Someone opened a bag of these, and I pretty much inhaled them. Yeah, they are the best. Gonna go get some to go with my sandwich for lunch, in fact. Thanks for the idea!

I had some Zapps in New Orleans, they were pretty good, but I don't remember them blowing me away like S&P Kettle chips.

Making your own is easy...

1. Slice potato thin, deep fry or bake as desired. Season.
2. ...
3.Profit.

I bake mine because of my cholesterol. So I have to bake them for a loooooong time, but they shrink up a lot. so if I do not leave them thicker; bad things happen.

I prefer the non crinkle-cut version. And actually, I like the Boulder Canyon version best of all.

Hmmm I'll have to keep an eye out for those Boulder chips. Wonder if they sell them at the national level at Kroger.

Can use any. :)

I have used good sized baking potato, Sweet Potato, those stupid things at the grocery store that are 10lbs for 2.99, etc.

Russets and sweets work best, Yukons are OK, reds and other boiler potatoes are too 'waxy'.

Thanks, that helps. I always have trouble remembering which potatoes are best for what.
