**** you all, right in your non participating faces.

Business & Technical Writing, English 407A. The first 400 Level class I have taken. I am taking this ultra **** seriously because this is one of my required upper division major courses, not just a pre-major.

We have had four projects to do...

Introduction Project, Case Project (faux Pas), Job Project and a group Usability Project.

I aced the Case Project, I was .34 points off of Acing the Introduction Project, my group has aced each portion of the usability project to date. I am taking this class very seriously.

The teacher (not a Dr); has been divvying up the class into Peer Review Groups for the individual projects. Each Individual project has a different Peer Review group, so we do not review the same people multiple times.

The rules for our Peer Review groups have been the same each time. The assignment has a due date of Friday by Midnight. This is when the Peer Reviews are to be completed... As such we are supposed to have the submission in before 7am Monday. This gives Monday through Friday for the review to be completed. We then have one week to review and revisit the document before we must submit it; if we would like to benefit from a non graded, optional teacher review; which builds upon and either agrees with or disagrees with the peer assessments.

I have come to rely on these peer reviews. They have provided me with great insight into improving my own writing, and into perfecting each document that has been due. The teacher review has also been valuable, since he does not always agree with the responses form our peers.

So here we get to the Job Project... my peer review submission has been up since Sunday Night. Well I check into the Web Campus several times a day... Not one **** submission other than my own in there. So:
a- How the **** am I supposed to be graded for my participation when everyone else is not participating?
b- Why can't we just work with our gorram usability group?
c- **** you Peer Review Group 4! **** you right in your non participating faces.

"Group projects" aren't there to teach you how to work in a group, they're for teaching you why you don't if you can avoid it.

Yes, there are valuable lessons to be learned here. They just probably aren't what the curriculum intended. =)

So class was this morning... I talked to the professor. Showed him my work, showed him that no one else bothered to post in the peer review group.

Here was his response: "Well you participated, you will get the credit for that. And if you feel like being a good samaritan, then you can give them until the end of the weekend to get the assignment submitted. If you have any desire or time to peer review, great.. if not: they knew when this was due."

he also gave me the option of having him do my peer review and doing my teacher review. I, of course accepted his offer.
