That's right, Gamestop has partnered with the 360 to bring you this atrocity, for the low low price of 69.99!

I saw that a couple of weeks ago. Major Fugly is more like it.

There was a Rocketfish brand PS3 controller that caught my eye, though; it swapped the normal DualShock/Sixaxis setup's D-pad and left thumbstick, resulting in a PS3 controller that felt like an Xbox 360 gamepad. Didn't have the money to waste on an unnecessary controller (already have two Sixaxis...es. Sixaxii. Whatever.), but it was interesting.

EDIT: O hai thar:

The biggest weakness of the PS3 controller is how small and light it is. The stick layout would be a close second, though. I wonder how much it weighs because that almost looks like it would be fine to use.

I picked it up in the store, though it was encased in the big plastic case like that atrocity in the original post. It seems as though without that encumbrance, it would weigh a little less than a 360 controller.

God that IS awful looking.

And the PS3 and 360 controllers both serve their respective consoles perfectly well. I prefer the light weight of the SixAxis, and have gotten used to the layout. But the 360 is just as fine to use IMO . . .

And here I was expecting a controller that was a staple of my youth:

Could it possibly be more un-ergonomical? It sure can! It's "back" is not flat. Oh no, it's "sunk in" so there is a lip all around the edge.

The way the two sticks on a 360 controller is annoying me, but thats because FOREVER I was used to a PS2 controller...

Also, did they have to label ALL the buttons backwards from an SNES controller? X and Y are reverse, and A and B are revered.... its annoying when I have to do those silly action sequences

Well, technically, they FIXED the reverse labeling that Nintendo has been pushing for years. I have never understood why Nintendo chose to do "B - A" since the NES.

Heh, I understand. It's probably why I go more with the color of the button than the letter associated with it (and every quicktime event I've seen shows the corresponding colors along with the letters). My brain processes those faster than the letters.

I never had a problem switching from the old nes labeling to the xbox style, but doing quicktime events on the PS2 after playing a lot of 360 kills me every time.
