This is very sad indeed. I heard about it on my way home from work last night, and am still kind of stunned.
He's been the radio voice of the Mariners since their inception in 1977. He was the only original employee left from the inaugural season.
Listening to them is just not going to be the same.
I think I'm most saddened by the fact that he never got to see them win a championship.
If someone asked who my favorite all-time Mariner is, it would be easy to so say 'Ken Griffey Jr.', or 'Randy Johnson', or 'Ichiro', but I think the correct answer to that question is just..."Dave"...
