Or, I should say I hate selling on Ebay.
First, three months ago I received negative feedback from some kid after I sold him a PS3 game. He claimed it was scratched, which I know for a fact it wasn't. I used cleaner on it as I was packaging it. I was extremely careful, and I still remember it clearly. He left the feedback about a week or two later, leading me to believe maybe something happened to the disc while he wasn't being careful with it. Regardless, there was strike one for me. When you only have about 30 feedback received, one negative really puts a dent. I dropped to like 75% positive feedback because of that one encounter. I even told the kid I would fully refund his money and pay for the return shipping, but he'd already left the feedback and he said the disc worked after he cleaned it with his shirt.
A week ago, I sold my Xbox live headset. I don't have high speed internet at home, so it served little purpose. I'm unemployed, with the holidays coming around the corner. The wireless headset retails for about $50 or so. The winning bidder paid around $20 for it. Here is my exact auction's details, to give you an idea of exactly what I said:
Quote:
The headset works perfectly, with only light wear on the foam part of the ear-piece. This wireless headset comes with the USB charger. Everything is here that you'll need to talk wireless on Xbox Live. It's white, with a grey ear-band, as seen in the picture.
As I stated in the auction, there is light cosmetic wear on the foam part of the ear-piece. You'll have to take my word for it, it wasn't that bad. So, here is his response to me:
Quote:
item is unusable in presant condition stock photo
First, it was a stock photo.........BUT, the item is specifically classified as "USED." This statement, above, is the negative feedback he left. Here's how Ebay defines "used:"
Condition: Used: An item that has been used previously. The item may have
some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. Whaddya know, that's exactly the way my item was shipped.
Below, is his message to me through ebay:
Quote:
your listing never said anything about poor condition of item foam is all tore apart disinagrading like new sell for price i paid
Judging by his grammatical skills, his reading can't be that far behind. That would explain why he never read the description to the auction.
So, he first claims it's unusable, then says the foam is worn down (which I stated in my auction). It's stuff like this that makes me want to avoid ebay. How can he say I never said anything about the condition of the foam on the ear-piece? It's not poor, as the guy states. He's just mad that it's not in pristine condition. *sigh* Now my feedback score is at %60. I even offered the guy a refund. He wants to keep it. Hmmm...must be functioning pretty well if he's passing up a full refund, including return shipping.
