Sprinkling potion posts throughout the general topic might get lost, so I thought I'd consolidate in a thread of its own.

Previously posted:

Keep your eyes peeled for these things for Haste, Clarity, HoT, Healing and AC / HP buff potions instead of buying them:

Level 10 needs Amanita Phalloide from unrest mobs
Level 20 needs White Hellebore off South Karana Gnolls
Level 30 needs Frosty Datura from dreadlands tundra yetis
Level 40 needs Black Henbane from kobolds in Sol B
Level 50 needs Autumn Crocus POP zones, Sanctus Seru, Or foraged in Srra Temple
Since we're pausing at 52(?) I won't go to 55+

For those Gately impaired toons, I loaded 5 gate potions into the bank today, grab one for emergencies. So far I haven't failed on a gate combine, but they are pricey to make.

If you have potion requests let me know.

I have need of a potter to combine some stuff for snare potions, I should be able to make the Basic Suspension of Slime V (level 20 required) with some Simple Firable Potion Vials (triv 32 pottery). Currently I don't have bandwidth to work out how to pottery the vials.

I also am not sure what the difference is between Basic, formed, worked and shaped suspensions . I should be able to make some of each, at least the level 20 versions but the pottery component changes.

What are gate potion components we can help with? I'm a big fan of having enough stock that we don't have to be shy on emergency use, and I'm willing to help contribute to building up that stock.

Not sure, but I think the gate potion components are all vendor purchased? About 150pp per combine?

Ah.. Okay then.

Clearly, my mind has become befuddled and spoiled by games with real player-driven economies behind the crafting. =P

Gate potions are indeed made with purchased items at 150pp per attempt. I made a small stack last night and was able to sell them overnight at a decent amount. This allowed me to make the ones I put in the bank. But another vendor is selling at a significantly lower rate today - probably more reasonable in all fairness. The high cost per attempt is the only limiting factor for being able to burn these willy nilly. Midgen set me up with an operating capital of 2500, but skill ups and expensive combines eat that down pretty fast.

The dropped stuff I can use that I have come across so far is listed above. I'll add other requests to keep an eye open for as they come to light.

There is a gate potion as part of a Thurgadin quest that I used to keep stocked all of the time. It's relatively simple to make but does require a little tradeskilling. I suggest looking into it! Very cheap to maintain, but you can only have one at a time.

Also, perhaps the Clockwork Talisman quest from PoK. I would suggest this over the Thurgadin shawl quest potion.

For your Rangers, I'm sure y'all can kill Trakanon a few times for some Tolan's Darkwood Breastplates :)

I added 5 more gate potions to the guild bank.

I notice that most of the spikes potions I had originally put in there are also still there. Are spikes not needed? You guys have better? the IV potions are 25 pt, required level 15 and V potions are 30 point level 20. I can make some VI potions 35pt level 25+.

A brief glance at the recipes for distillates (regen, spikes, etc) level VII potions seem to start needing drops. Regen is a fungus grove drop, spikes is shissar blood from the grey.

If you are hunting in Ssra temple I can use the Exceptional Shissar Blood. The level 55 spikes potions needs it. Based on a single data point last night, spike potions might stack with spell spikes?

skinspikes stacks with everything not on this list:
http://lucy.allakhazam.com/stacking.htm ... ource=Live

basically the ranger targetable DS/AC buff is the only significant stacking issue (and fire elemental illusions)

Hmmm. I didn't realize Skin Spikes potions was that much higher than raid level Illusionary Spikes click.

Anyone doing Daily tasks in Arcstone please keep hold of any powder of Ro you loot. It makes the 65 skinspikes potion which is a tough combine.

Unfortunately, the mobs that drop it (the Kirin goats or whatever they are) don't give any experience, but I'm all for doing some farming to get you some skillup components and build up a stash of potions in the bank.

They are easy to get to and easy enough to kill.

Powder of Ro *should* drop off all PoR mobs... The experience vs the risk probably isn't worth it at 65 in Arcstone, however.

Might be interesting to see if a full group of level 65's could do the Cloak of the Spirit Hunter quest there- requires killing 5 different named, one for each of the "sub zones".

I believe NephyrS is right, any mobs in that content can drop the powder of Ro. The problem with farming in Arcstone is lack of XP as pointed out, but also that I need 1 for each combine. so there needs to be a fair few drops to make it worthwhile. This is why I wanted to remind folks to save it as they see it.

The trivial is 340+ and at 203 I was able to make 1 of 3 attempts yesterday. I am looking forward to trying it out to see what level of DS it provides though.

Note that the experience in Arcstone is actually pretty decent- just not on the Spirit Stags. Everything else is good exp, it's just a lot tougher.

The first time I did the hotzone quest there it was for one of the plant mobs, just up the path from the spirit stags. They didn't pose too much difficulty for my 2box group. I was also able to handle the wolves with no problem. I suspect this stuff should be groupable.

The only scary part was the big red KOS named tree that kept wandering up to the spot where I was fighting.

Aye, the red KOS tree is the one for the quest I linked above.

The 5 boss fights can be quite fun, actually.

The mini-named in the zone also drop parts for questable armor, but it's required 68 as far as I recall. The BPs from any armor set are worth getting from OOW on, for the most part, due to clickies found on them.
