Is there a nice list of the weapons + unlocks out there? I keep finding swag.

My most frustrating issue with multiplayer(and it's pretty much all my fault)...

I die a lot. I get my share of kills so usually I even out but if I have 17 kills...I probably have 15-20 deaths. I don't know what my issue is. Just might not be fast enough, and I hate I mean HATE camping and campers. I swear, I'll die 6 times just to get to a guy that is camping.

The other thing. The right thumb thing(I'm on a PS3 with this)...I guess I get all tensed up or something...I'll see someone a little ways off, I've got the drop on them, and I'll hit my melee button totally screwing me over. I've tried changing to other layouts but it doesn't work for me.

Good Lord though, I love multiplayer.

What sensitivity do you play on Nitefox?

In past CoD's I've played on 4-6 most times. In Black Ops I dropped my sensitivity down to 2 and have seen my accuracy/efficiency go up a good bit in this game.

Not sure. I may not have messed with that. Is it higher the number, the more sensitive?

What weapons and perks do you use? My most successful has been:

AKu74 + Red Dot
Ballistics Knife / C4 / Semtex / Flash
Ghost Pro
Sleight of Hand Pro
Marathon Pro

Killstreaks: This depends on your gametype. On TDM I usually do Napalm, Attack Heli and Chopper Gunner. If I'm playing something like CTF, I'll do spy/counter spy/napalm.

The main weapon is an SMG which means it aims fast already, but the sleight of hand perk means unbelievable reload/aiming times. Also, a good tip is to start shooting *before* you aim. It can get you a few extra bullets in your opponent which can be the difference between life and death.

I'm trying to decide if I want to prestige. Maxed my exp out last night, but this game doesn't give much as far as prestige perks. More classes and emblems, but that's about it.

Edit - link with all weapon damage/range/recoil stats demystified: http://denkirson.xanga.com/735016527/black-ops/

I'm running through my first prestige level right now so I'm doing things different than the first time around.

I'm going to stick with submachine guns and assault rifles for the most part. Sniping and the heavy stuff is fun every now and then but to slow for my style of play.

The perks I go with mostly are hardline, hacker and warlord. I like hacker so I can see the claymores and get an idea of where someone is if they are using equipment.

I dig the AKu74, probably my fav sub machine gun. I'll switch between the AK47, Commando, Famas and the Guil(sp?). I mostly use red dot and supressor as my attachments.

I do like to create a build that I call my running man. I'll go lightweight, marathon and warlord with a sub machine gun and just take off. I get killed a lot but I surprised a lot of people by getting to them faster than they expect.

I prestiged and I don't regret it. I found that the second time around I was much better. Also the M16 is a beastly thing to wield so even at level 1 there is a good weapon available.

Nitefox, I found that when I stopped sprinting everywhere I did tremendously better.

Actually, I started taking note of that this weekend. It does help.

Yeah, the higher # the faster your controls move. Lower the # the slower.

I'll also offer this. Playing with a group of people almost always leads to doing better as a whole. Ever since starting my youtube channel and getting involved in that community, my friends list has bloomed to nearly full with many of them being top caliber players.

There's a resource that largely caters to FPS gamers, but its like a facebook for gamers so to speak made by two big name guys from the Youtube community, Woodysgamertag & Sasbenjr. Its www.hupitgaming.com.

Essentially what you can do with it is go to it, search it's database for whatever criteria you might be looking for. Say you want people between the ages of 25-45, who are interested in winning but also having fun. It'll give you a list of people who have signed up, fall into that category and are interested in playing with people from the site.

Its been a very useful site for a lot of people to find like minded gamers to team up in a variety of FPS games on all systems.

I've tried the different layout modes with no success. I've got the sensitivity set at 1. It's just a tick I'm going to have to get over with my thumb.

I also found HC games a lot more fun. No more emptying an entire mag into a guy and watching him run off or gun you down.

I'm not too far in, but so far I liked the MW2 campaign MUCH better.

I was just playing the part where you blow up the rocket, and then you make your exit. So I got stuck on the last checkpoint before the end of the level. I was playing it on the hardest setting, and those two idiots they stuck me with were horrible. I swear they killed me more times than they actually killed any of the enemy. They'd take all the good cover, but not actually manage to hit anything. I can't count how many times they'd shoot me in the back of the head when I'm trying to shoot around a corner.

I gave up on veteran and just put it on easy. I wanted to see the story and not end up gouging my eyes out due to the ridiculous AI.

The multiplayer facts that scroll are pretty neat:
All players total have fallen to their death from a height of 160000 times the height of Mt Everest.

Prestige is basically when you reach level 70, you flip back to level 1, lose EVERYTHING you purchased and earned, and get a little prestige indicator to show you did so. I honestly don't see the point of it.

And what's up with not having any mic? Sucks trying to play a game with you when you can't talk.

For my money, I think I like them in the order of MW1 > MW2 > Black Ops. The story in Black Ops was compelling. But the MW games just made me feel like a bad-ass. I felt like a professional soldier where most things were going my way. Plus all the really cool parts were longer than 2 minutes. The Blackbird part of the game friggin RULED. But was way too short-lived. How awesome was the AC-130 level in MW1? How awesome would it have been if it were only 2 minutes long?

Is this directly towards me or in general?

The game seems a lot less tactical and team-oriented then Battlefield so I normally don't break it out for CoD.

Yeah you. Tried to party with you that one time and you had no mic.

Regarding Prestige..
It's just something to do. You can get the first 20 levels in a few hours of playing. It's not like WoW levels by any means. And there are only 50 in Black Ops.
But do whatever you have fun at. I did it once then sat at 50 for a long time. Felt the itch to reroll and started over. No big deal.

If you feel comfortable in wager matches, when you hit lvl 50, go into the high roller. As soon as it takes out the 10k for your wager match of choice, prestige in the WM lobby, then go win the wager match and you'll be lvl 1 with potentially 30k. If you lose you don't miss out on anything anyway.
