Katie, go get sketch pad and start drawing. Check out a couple of art books from the library and learn how to put your artistic side to work. Sketch pads are pretty cheap, it will just be sitting there to pick up when you are bored or just want to focus on something. Once you have developed some skill and if you want to go further - take a beginning art class somewhere. Get the kids to pose for you, might keep them still and quiet for a few minutes at a time. Later on, when you decide to tackle the cloth-less model, just tire out the King, pose him and tell him to stay still for a while.

It is cheap at first, pads and pencils don't cost all that much, and if you decide to try new mediums you can pace yourself along with your budget.

Once you aren't trashing your attempts, nobody starts out really good, most folk have to work up to average, then post some stuff here.

Some of us will be gentle.

Do you like costuming and such? Perhaps you could put together a Ren Faire outfit for you and the King. Could even make it into a home-schooling trip for the young'uns. Not sure where the Faire closest to you is, though.

There's always pen-and-paper D&D, of course. Heck, I wasted the better part of my youth on that.

ErfWorld is the best webcomic out there I think. And you could always get into doing something along those lines yourself, if you think you have the story in you.

Not sure where you live but maybe once a week you can visit a local city park. It's something you can do with family. Maybe nature will even inspire you to take up painting or photography.

Catch up on all the awsome netflix tv series and also all the books that are wonderful too! Just to fill the moments when you dont want to think and need the distraction.
