Where I work, we all use laptops with Windows XP and connect to high-performance Linux servers to work on our projects. I think they all have Redhat. I personally have two of such Linux servers all to myself. One is local, and the other is in Cali.

edit: Some people have Apple laptops, but most have ones with Windows XP.

Apple climbed as high as 9-10% of the market share at its highest.

The release of Windows 7 has seen it lose all its gains (made against a 10 year old OS) slip back closer to its normal resting point of 5%.

Supposedly the patch has been pulled and should no longer cause any problems. However if it's already installed, it might be worth some extra caution. The affected patch number is 3292, if that helps any.

Also, contrary to many published reports, this issue affects both the free and paid versions of AVG, but only on 64 bit Windows 7/Vista platforms.

W3 Counter shows OS X over 8%. The median from all the counters shows OS X at 6.8%

And, just to keep with the comparison, Canada is 33,739,900/528,720,588ths in population in North America. That's about 6.4%.

Pfft. That's not America. The third world doesn't count.

Also I think this still holds up for people of 3rd world nations... they don't count as much for operating system usage.

Quote:
The Three-Fifths compromise was a compromise between Southern and Northern states reached during the Philadelphia Convention of 1787 in which three-fifths of the population of slaves would be counted for enumeration purposes regarding both the distribution of taxes and the apportionment of the members of the United States House of Representatives. It was proposed by delegates James Wilson and Roger Sherman.
