Ah, but I think Kucinich is one of the biggest liars of them all. He indulges in the Big Lie that extremists on both sides use to get elected - He's sophisticated enough to know there are no simple answers to the issues, yet he tells voters, "Powerful bad guys are out to get you, but if you elect me, I'll fight to make sure you really can have your cake and eat it too."

Hmm. I'm not sure. When it comes to Kucinich, "the powerful bad guys out to get you" are the aliens that live among us. I'm not sure if we can quantify the crazy as dishonesty. ;)

Edit: Although, being batshit insane doesn't preclude also being dishonest.

True. Can you classify delusions as dishonesty?

I can see that. I guess what it comes down to is that I believed him when he positioned himself during the campaign as solidly pro-due process and anti-torture. Also, I consider those to be the kind of issues that are, or at least should be, above the usual /eyeroll campaign puffery and pragmatic political compromise, so his reversals there strike me as genuine betrayals of principle.

This confuses me. You expect politicians to come out and say they're anti-due process and pro-torture?

Of course these are issues people lie about. And given that you've already classified Obama (during election season) as a politician willing to lie to get elected, why did you take him at face value on this issue?

He's a liar.

You do realize the very first link is of one stating that after investigation they couldn't find one lie?

I have to admit that some of his "lies/sell-outs/ignorance of the real world" got me too.

I borrowed your words from another thread Mus. Seemed appropriate. "He likes to fall back on semantics when his insanity is shown to him and he is unable to reconcile it with reality."

How many lies does one have to get caught telling to be a liar?

Seems that if it's only just one that gets substantiated, even if it's not the first link on the google results, then the die is cast. In this case, 90% on the first page seem to be agreeing with Müs and only the one disagrees.

You should always check to see if your petard's undone when you leave the bathroom.
