Rynar,

Taskiss has admitted in the past arguing a contrary position just to piss people off. He was playing devil's advocate (he didn't even give a **** about the issue), and wasn't even paying attention to the logic on the other side.

It helps to frame any replies to him with that in mind.

I think comparing Julian Assange to a founding father is idiocy. He's not fighting for his country's independence, he's pissing in folks wheaties.

Frame that.

Wasn't so much a defense of Assange (Glenn says as much) as it was a rebuttal of the charges against him. However if he's got his facts right. Assange shouldn't be charged.

I don't there really is much of a case against Assange in respect to his leaking those documents. Even the use of the espionage treaty is going to be a real stretch to make stick and likely won't go anywhere. It's just the goverment trying to it's best to hamper his ability to continue to leak documents.

Assange's accusers' names are released online by a blog:

Information should be free Lex? Why don't you publish your name and phone number?

You've just dropped points in my estimation of your character. I thought you were showing some maturity, but it looks like I was wrong.

I didn't release the information... I don't know what you're on about. I didn't say it was Ok. I was presenting this as news of what happened. The entire Internet knows about it anyways, and I don't think anyone on the Glade will start dialing these numbers.

Maturity escapes you.

"Everybody's doing it!" is a kids excuse. If you don't want your name and number published, don't publish others. Pretty simple.

I'm not exactly being a deviant by posting a popular, mainstream Internet link.

I see both of your points.

Lex, if you were one of the accusers, would you want your information published.

Taskiss, do you feel that accusers of such serious crimes should be allowed to be anon?

I think the accused should be allowed to face his accuser, but I don't think that the public needs access to the accuser first, and I don't think private information like addresses and phone numbers should be advertised at all.

No, but also the accused shouldn't have his information published.

The fact that their information is public is certainly news.

A direct link to the site (which is not exactly a 'mainstream blog) isn't 'furthering' news.

Ok, fine. I'll stop linking to things which reached the front page of reddit.com (which is just like digg.com if you didn't know). I didn't realize this forum was hyper-sensitive. I don't want to have to ponder, "Can the people on the Glade handle this?" I'm done posting links.
