Like they said, "demands of the residents". So I guess that is what a majority of the taxpayers want.

If a State store is closed, there is no other way to get wine. Alcohol isn't so readily available in PA after hours.

No Foamy, the demands of the residents are that they be able to buy beer and wine in grocery stores - with no additional strings attached.

I'm just quoting the article.

Yes state owned and operated. And its becomming increasingly hard for the state to not sell it off because people are pissed and they could make up for budget deficits by selling it and axign state employees.

Quoting and then inferring information from that quote. You inferred that this is what the peopel want, it is in fact not what the peopel want but the governments attempt to placate demands while still having control and income.

Ok, but what I really want to know is...

did you mean to spell people incorrectly the same way twice?

Just to clarify, because I'm having difficulty with this concept, but the only means by which to purchase alcohol in the state of PA is through a state owned and operated store?

No, but it's very convoluted. Certain places can sell beer, but only certain quantities. I'm not sure about wineries, but the state controls the wine and liquor trade, IIRC.

Since I have never known any other way and additionally since I don't drink much anyway, my knowledge is limited.....but

States stores sell all manner of bottled liquor and wines and such. You can get cases of beer at beer distributors. Additionally, you can usually buy chilled six packs or 40s at pizzerias, bars and the like.

So I guess it is liquor that is most difficult to get other than through a state store.

Nope, but was typing on the laptop while on a 90 min waste of time conference call.
