They only give a date, but don't mention a time, or if there will be any downtime.

Just as I was finally building up some loyalty points, they go and raise the price of the bags of platinum.

Oh well, at least I can afford a "Festive Tree" for the house I decommissioned :p

- Bankers around Norrath were worried about the inflation caused by the bag of platinum. With this in mind they convinced the Loyalists of Norrath council to raise the price of the bag of platinum. In recompense, the council halved the price of the festive trees.

- NPCs will no longer repop in 2010's Frostfell missions. Auras in these missions will be more visible, and fewer NPCs will see invisible players.

- The chest at the end of The Stuff of Dreams mission can once again be looted properly.

- Cazic's Final Stand - Cazic Thule has become more resistant to slow.

Which is odd. I have burned through a ton of plat this expansion. I had just over 200k in the bank when HoT was released, and now I have 70ish, plus the 10K or so I have on my character for covering merc stuff.

The timing of that change is very strange. I realize it may have something to do with whats going on in HoT, which I have no perspective on, but it comes at a time when a lot of people who recently returned (for Hot or Trak, or whatever) are just building up enough velocity and loyalty points to take advantage of it, only to have it pulled out from under us.

Doesn't seem like a very good way to encourage 'loyalty'....

Agreed. No bag o' plat for me. All sweat and tears in a non economy server.

Speaking of which, I expect to finally have a chance to log in again tonight.

You won't find much going on.

I've logged in trak toons the last few days just to see if there was anyone on. The place is desolate. There were only about 20 toons in general most of the weekend, and most, if not all of those were AFK.

I spent a little time putzing around on Firiona Vie to see how the new experience mods would affect play. It was nice to see stuff for sale in the bazaar, even if it was all waaaaay over priced. Strange seeing no-trade stuff for sale. That would take some getting used to.

The situation on Trakanon is dire. If you want to know what a single player MMO is like, this is the place to be :p

Hehe, most stuff on FV isn't overpriced compared to Trak... Can get your defiant for a few hundred per piece or less, most of the time :-P

A lot of the high end stuff is overpriced, but mostly that's GoD/PoP "twink" gear. The raid gear from Seeds of Destruction is usually quite reasonable, at around 100k per piece or so.... And a full set of Solteris visible armor runs around 200k.

Not that I'm on to check. It's well possible that prices have skyrocketed with the expanded char slots... Give people a chance to spend all their cash on twink gear. If that's the case, it's a crappy time for my comp to be down... I could make a killing :-P I have almost every piece of twink gear in existence somewhere :-D

I just saw a post on the forums indicating that the new price for a "Bag of Platinum" is 460436 loyalty tokens.

Realistically, this is probably a better price. I think I'm just mostly irked because they left the price so low for so long, and gave people a ton of loyalty points up front (mostly people who didn't need it).

I don't think much though went into this.. either when it was implemented, or now, as they are making knee jerk reactions this late in the game.

It explains a lot...

Edit: corrected price of "Bag of Platinum" is actually 436 loyalty tokens....

The bag of plat really didn't have much of an effect on established servers... But it's obvious they didn't think about the effect on Trak.

Mostly, the knee-jerk reaction came with the dramatic increase in starting currency... It was only supposed to max at around 450 or so originally, and then with the long delay/bugs getting it in, they gave it a 5x multiplier, which resulted in people having way too many tokens to start with- that combined with the bag of plat on a "fresh" server was just a really bad combo.

If they'd left the initial starting values alone, I don't think it would have been as big of a deal- people could have bought one or two bags, but would have wanted to keep some around for other things.

The original intention was to merge trak with another server at some point anyway, right? Eventually it won't be so bad.

Why would they make a new server with the specific intention to do that? Anyway, I have no idea. As far as I know, they never stated they were creating it with any specific plans to merge it.

As far as I know, Trak was created for no other reason other than possibly to tithe people over who were waiting for a new Time Locked Progression server, which is still being touted for sometime in Q1. They had some spare hardware left over from shutting down Mayong, and/or previous mergers, so they built out a fresh blue server.

I personally have no interest in TLP, or any other kind of restricted content server. I made new characters on Trakanon because I was interested in playing again, and the game had changed so much I had no clue how to re-acquaint myself with my level 65'ish platoon on Luclin. I was going to start new toons anyway, when Nephyr came up with the idea to create a glade guild on Trakanon, so I jumped in both feet.

That's it, I blame Nephyr!! (hehe)

All I want is to know what the future plans are for FV and Trak. I have toons on both servers (and Luclin), and am holding off on transfers until I find out what is going to happen. I'm also hesitant to start more alts that are redundant to any of my existing toons.

Must have missed each other. During the week is incredibly difficult for me right now, but I plan to be on much of this weekend if you can fit it in between festivities.

I think you might be posting in the wrong forum.
