Massive cuts at work. My position is being eliminated, and I may or may not be offered a part time position via bumping someone else. Either way the search is on. I'm working till the end of the year normally so that will cover January's bills. I'm on month to month if I'm unable to sustain this place I can leave it with 30 days notice. It's the waiting that's killer. I could deal with any outcome if you'd just let me know what's what.

Sorry about your predicament at work Rorinthas =(

I got the official notice today that I'm being laid off. The contract is going from 600 man hours (on paper, 450ish in reality) to 286 man hours. So they are only keeping those guys who they know can really hustle as opposed to those of us with more experience and perhaps better service skills.

I have an odd peace about about the situation. I've felt for a while that God wanted me to move into something different. Yes it'd be nice to have that something different clearly before me, but I'm okay with it.

Best of luck Rori, try not to laugh when they call and ask you how to do stuff. Instead, just ask how much they are offering to pay you for that information.

Sorry to hear that Rori, here's hoping the next thing is bigger and better.

That sucks, Rori. When I got laid off, it turned out to be a good thing since I was in a dead end job. But that was in 1993, this economy is blechier . Hope you find something better
