OK, so I bought Borderlands (not the GOTY edition) well before Xmas. I am loving the game and decided that I wanted the DLC. Seeing the GOTY edition for $39.99 at GS, I told Oonagh to buy it for me. I had to run off to the bathroom so she completed the sale. This is important because what they did that I did not witness was they took an opened game and put a sticker on it to mark it as "New". Now, included in the GOTY packaging was a disc for the game and a sheet with 4 one-time use codes for each of the DLC packs. This bothered me that a game was opened and possibly on display with said codes immediately available for copying.

So, I waited until Xmas day to plug in the codes to start the downloads. First one, no problem. Second one, no problem. Third one, problem...Oops, I reversed two letters, no problem. Number four, problem. Tried 6-7 times and each time the code comes up invalid. As I was afraid, someone, whether an employee or a customer, helped themselves to the code for the DLC pack "Claptrap's New Robot Revolution"

I went back to GS yesterday to see how they were going to handle this. They didn't question me at all and happily exchanged my open GOTY with 4 used codes with a new sealed copy which I haven't opened as yet.

My question to you Borderlands players out there is as follows:

Keeping in mind that I have the CD for the game from the first non-GOTY edition purchase, Do I open the new game for only the code for the last of the DLC? In other words, is the Claptrap's New Robot Revolution pack worth opening a sealed game worth $39.99 that I can likely exchange at another local GS for something else even up instead of the trade-in value?

After putting this into words here, I think I may have made up my mind. Seems I may skip the last of the DLC and exchange for something else entirely. Unless someone tells me "OMGWTFBBQ you have to play the Claptrap pack. It is the BEST. DLC. EVAR."

So after all that, I am interested in hearing any opinions. And also please feel free to add any GameStop suxxors comments too.

I have an easy irrefutable solution for you -- buying the Claptrap DLC will cost you less than $39.99.

I haven't gotten around to playing any of the Borderlands DLC yet, though.

Trade it in, snag some Microsoft points to buy the final DLC at some later date.

I have wanted to get into the Assassin's Creed series since it's inception, but I haven't picked up any of them as yet. Now with this credit, I may trade up for one of the series.

Is there any need to play any of the previous installments or should I jump right into AC: Brotherhood?

It's all one big story. Unless you plan on reading plot synopses, you'll want to play them.

If you start with part 1, don't bother doing all the extra missions. It'll get repetitive. Beat the game asap and get on to part 2, which fixes almost every complaint from the first game.

I also recommend playing through all of them. Really epic continuous story through all the games.

I never beat AC1, and got AC2 with my SSD, there is alot in Assassin's Creed 2 I dont/cant follow as I never beat part 1.

I cant stomach to play part 1 again though, I was so annoyed with the same 5 missions over and over again. There is alot of repetiveness in AC2 but its a helluva lot better than 1 was IMHO, and at least some uniqueness in the repetive Assassinate missions etc...

If can stomach the repetiveness definately would recommend starting at AC1
