Heard him on the local radio station the other day. Amazing natural "gift".

The other day? This is a breaking story from yesterday.

Hopwin lives in Ohio, Lex, meaning that the local radio station is probably less than two hours away. The video you posted indicates he's been out there for a few days, at least.. it's perfectly reasonable to consider that another local news outlet might have noticed, too.

Ok, then if by "few" you mean 2 days max, then that is correct. The video had under 350 views yesterday at noon.

Apparently he's gotten numerous job offers now from radio stations and even with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

(At least that's what I heard last week)

You're all liars, I bet you can't find one shred of evidence of this story before January 3 when the video was posted. And it received no attention until yesterday.

It's blocked at work for me but go to www.alancoxshow.com/ and see when they talked about it since that's where I heard it. I'll bet you dollars to donuts that it was indeed the "other" day.

It's nowhere there, I just looked... I highly doubt you will find any trace of this before the Youtube video that was posted Monday. Maybe you have it confused with a different story?

Yes, because YouTube is the primary source for news and human interest stories.

This guy got a job with the Cavaliers and they gave him a free place to live. Watched an interview with him and he just seems like an amazingly nice guy. Good for him and I hope he keeps it up.

Is it as an egomaniacal small forward who womanizes, devalues other people's humanity, tosses around the race-card like he was Gambit, puts up 25-40 pts a game and then quits in the playoffs? Cause I think I saw somewhere that they have an opening...

This happened today, so unlike Vlad he is not lying. I think Hopwin just got confused about dates and or stories.

Williams, 53, recorded in December by Dispatch videographer Doral Chenoweth III at a North Side off ramp while offering to demonstrate his pristine pipes for spare change, found millions of worldwide admirers after a Dispatch.com video became viral.

The video has been around, likely reported locally, since December. It has only recently gone viral.

Wikipedia wrote:
ed Williams (born 1957) is a voiceover artist from Columbus, Ohio who became famous when a brief interview with him while he was homeless was posted to YouTube, quickly becoming a viral video sensation. He has been called the "Homeless Man with the Golden Voice".

Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Williams has nine kids, seven girls and two boys. He is 53 years old. Williams served three years for the United States Army.[1] His inspiration to become a radio announcer came from a field trip at age 14, when he found that a radio announcer who he had heard looked nothing like he had imagined. Williams had experience as a radio disc jockey before, though Williams stated that around 1996, drug and alcohol abuse complicated his career leading to his then-current state of homelessness. He has currently been clean and sober for two and a half years.

A YouTube video was recorded in Columbus, Ohio at the Hudson Street off-ramp of Interstate 71, and posted January 3, 2011. It was recorded by Doral Chenoweth, a videographer for the Columbus Dispatch[2][3]. Within one day, it had been viewed over 5,000,000 times[4]. Williams' story also garnered a large following on the social news website Reddit, with many users pledging donations of money, clothes, and job offers.[5] On January 5, 2011, Williams appeared on "Dave and Jimmy" on WNCI and was interviewed (since clean shaven and hair cut) by The Early Show on CBS.

On January 5, 2011, the day after Williams became an internet sensation, the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA basketball team offered him a job and a house. The offer calls for Williams to do full-time voiceover work with the Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena. Williams responded, "That’s the best deal ever!"[6]

If anything of note such as a radio appearance happened before Jan. 3, it would have been mentioned here. It doesn't matter if the video was recorded before Jan. 3 if nobody has seen it.

I contend that arguing with Lex is somewhat like beating yourself over the head while waiting for a bomb to go off.
