Not really a rant. My toenail suffered from a bit small snowboard boots which I have since upgraded. Man, the old nail is just hanging by the cuticle. It is so gross. I can't stop thinking about it.

Just rip it off and let the new nail grow back in.

Not as Ouchie as one might think. I have had this happen before where I stubbed a toe so hard that within a few days the tonail was hanging on by barely a thread. It comes off quite easily and painlessly by this point and will soon be replaced by a new one.

Oh and...

Oh no...it won't hurt so good; just for a flicker of time :p

Men whine about the little things...toenails being ripped off, a bandage that rips a good stretch of chest hair off, a foley insertion, a flex-a-seal insertion, little tiny poke of getting blood drawn....

That stuff really doesn't hurt much, trust me :)

Some of these things are not like the others. :o I notice you didn't include a Foley catheter removal...
I have no experience with a Flexi-Seal insertion, and do not want.

Vindi, foley removal is quick...unless you make me mad, then I pull very, very slowly....or maybe...I "forget" to deflate the balloon.

;)

I'm going to go with "Having Bones Set without Anesthesia" for $2000, Alex.

The nail itself is "dead" tissue. It's grown from specialized cells at the base of the nailbed.

Meh, try pulling a chest tube out without anesthesia. I've seen it done.

I never knew men could produce sounds in that octave range...

I had this. It was less painful in the long run than multiple shots to numb the area first.

Oonagh had this too; it was before we met.

Broken ankle or growth plate, one of the bones in her foot. Had to sleep with her foot elevated because of the pain. Had the appointment to have the bone set the next day and she told me is was one of the worst pains she ever experienced.

I have never broken a bone and I hope it stays that way.

You have the bone set. It hurts. It hurts a lot. And then it's gone and all you need is aspirin.

Two words: back labor

Another two words: dry sockets

(For the latter, one side was treated without anesthetic.)

Kidney Stone.
Infected sebaceous cyst
Two greatest periods of physical pain in my life.

Shattering my left shoulder and right forearm at the same time was easy. Shock is your friend.

Yes, you can tell when you walk in the room and someone has a kidney stone. It is its own level of pain.
