Notice the 'edit' comment I added at the end of that post. Also, I assumed that was why Talya didn't want to watch Schindler's List, I just wanted confirmation.

I tear up at the introduction to The Lion King (it is majestic, isn't it?), I don't handle very emotional movies well.

Because his films are hyper-sentimental, simple-minded, and kitschy. It goes back a long way, probably around the time of ... Goonies, actually. I can't even put it into words, really, but invariably at some point in his movies, I get pissed off.

That being said, I did see Saving Private Ryan, and enjoyed it. But, even then, I found myself muttering under my breath, at times.

Ugh. Saving Private Ryan was crap. Well, it had an utterly brilliant opening sequence at Normandy, but then the script went tits-up.

And Aethien, I don't really think any of your criticisms (and I very much agree with the hyper-sentimentality strike; it's my biggest problem with Spielberg...well, that and his post-1994 output) are applicable to Schindler's List. It's a truly fantastic piece, and I highly recommend a watch. It's also got probably the greatest supporting actor performance ever in Ralph Fiennes' Amon Goeth.

Schindler's List, Vertigo, The Wizard of Oz ... and I almost don't want to count Vertigo because I didn't watch it by choice. It was the Dialing for Dollars movie one day, back when I was in the habit of watching that program daily, regardless of what the movie was.

The Godfather, Schindler's List & The Wizard of Oz. I *may* have seen Vertigo on TV or cable as a kid, but I can't say for sure.

And yeah, Schindler's List is a not something I ever feel like seeing again. I just found out the other day that my wife hasn't seen it and if she decides to Netflix it, I don't know if I would sit through it with her or not. Way too depressing.

I'd watch Schindler's List again for the sake of watching it with Taamar, who has never seen it, but she has no interest.

I've seen 2, 3, 4, and 10. I'm pretty sure I've got most, if not all, of the other movies in my Netflix queue though.

I've seen 7 out of the 10...have not seen Citizen Kane, Raging Bull, or Schindler's List.
