I always loved Dark Side of the Moon but never really listened to the other albums...

'till I saw Roger Waters perform "The Wall" live at the Qwest center here in Omaha.

What a great album! (movie is cool as hell, too)

Also fell in love with Animals, Wish You Were Here, Meddle..

great stuff---Echoes and Shine On You Crazy Diamond....f*cking epic!

:D

I'm only sad that I didn't take time to listen to these years ago.

For my money Wish You Were Here has always choked me up.

I can't even imagine how many times I've listened to "The Wall". It was on my mp3 player as one continuous album for many, many years, and one of my favorites.

At least you can make up for lost time by listening to it a lot! :)

Love love love love love The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and Animals (mostly forgotten in the midst of the other three legendary albums). I also enjoy The Final Cut, though control of the group tilted a too far toward solo Waters at that point.

I don't particularly enjoy the Syd Barrett-era stuff, as they sound like just a psychedelic version of the Beatles. Meddle is the first of what I consider to be "classic" Floyd, and while it's uneven, "Echoes" is a wonder.

Not as enthused about the songwriting in the post-Waters era, but musically they're still pretty solid (though they slid, for a while, a bit too far into dated '80s syth).

I used to be indifferent to Pink Floyd, liking a few songs here and there.

Now I despise them. Not because of Pink Floyd, per se, but because the idiot I sit beside at work had tickets to a Roger Waters concert (he kept calling it a Pink Floyd concert) this summer and wouldn't stop talking about it for the two weeks prior to going, or the week after. None of the rest of us cared. Now I hear Pink Floyd, and I mentally associate it with Cro-magnon tit-starer.

I heard Echoes on the radio about a month back. There is just something damn cool about a 20 minute song played on the radio. DJ's girlfriend must have stopped by the office.

Judging by your repeated mentions of him, I can only assume it is your tits he stares at?

No. The fact that he's a cro-magnon man and the fact that he's a tit-starer reference two entirely different conditions. You can be one without the other. It's also true that being a tit-starer is far more irritating than it might otherwise be when it's someone as repulsive and stupid as he is.

I mostly gave up on "Eyes up here" two years ago. But this little dweeb is truly one of the most pathetic examples of the species. My only explanation is he must be a primitive cave man sent into the future, without a fully developed thinking capacity.

For more Floyd goodness, here's a documentary they shot about the making of "Dark Side of the Moon."

I really enjoyed it, and had a lot of depth about things they had to work with prior to the days of computer recording and automation. (I especially loved the part about how they had all the band members standing at the mixing board each controlling different tracks so they could mix them all down into one, live performance mixing board!)

No, it is Khrosstalk for I can't really understand how you could say such a thing and still maintain human status.

Alternatively, it is Khrosstalk for there is no accounting for taste.

Occasionally it is Khrosstalk for You are so damn LTTP it is stunning, how could you have remained oblivious to this for so long you GDF Moron!

There may be interpretations of the three dot Khrosstalk I haven't discovered yet.

Is his name Greg? Was a friend of mine who disappeared into Indiana several years ago. He was hairy like a cro-magnon and was definitely a tit-starer. He constantly stared ot Oonagh's chest and repeated "Grand Tetons" He was the friend who introduced me to his friend who would eventually become a double murderer. I have lost all touch with him. Perhaps he has found his way to Canada.

Did that post come off as a drug-induced ramble?

I assume that is what your post meant. Then again, I rarely understand most of what you post, most especially the ellipsis. I mean seriously, is it an intentional omission of a word in the original text, a pause in speech, an unfinished thought, or a trailing off into silence.
