The Glade 4.0

Well, my Logitech wireless mouse is starting to do the double-click thing when I single click. This has screwed me at least 3 times so far while playing video games so it's gotta go. Any recommendations on a new one? I was kinda considering the whole trackball thing but I get kinda nervous about that because I'm worried I won't adjust when it comes time for FPS games.

I think I paid $50 for this mouse so I'm kinda disappointed it only made it like 4 years.

I'm using the Logitech Performance MX at work, and it's really nice. Wireless, but with a USB charging cable for the rechargeable battery.

I use it with the Logitech Wave keyboard, love them both.

I second the Performance MX; I bought it to replace my aged MX 700, and really like it even if it doesn't have a cradle to charge and uses a cable, as NephyrS stated.

Wireless mice are not great for gaming.

If you doing a lot of gaming, you want to look for a mouse at A) has a wire, and B) is rugged/durable (i.e. Designed for gaming).

I don't understand the big advantage of having a wireless mouse. It's not like you're lifting it into the air or moving away from your seat. Also the cord is in front of the mouse so you never have to touch it. Also you have to worry about recharging it, and there's possible latency issues for gaming.

I tried a wireless mouse for awhile.

Wasn't great for gaming, all the aspects Lex mentions were true for me.

I've been using wireless mice for 8 years now or so.... Can't stand wired anymore. It's so easy to clear my desk by dropping them in a drawer, or moving to my couch and using the same mouse as a remote.

I've never had any connectivity issues gaming with them, even FPS gaming... I found network lag was more of an issue than mouse lag.

The utility of being able to put my feet up on my desk and put the keyboard into my lap without having to move around the wires is great- and I don't have wires buried under the rest of the clutter on my desk, of which nearly every available space is used.

Screeling, I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment, again, a couple years down the road.

Wireless mice introduce two more points of failure (namely, the battery and transmitter/receiver system), and I'd wager dollars to donuts that it's the wireless transmitter/receiver (or interference issues) that is causing your current problem, rather than a mechanical defect with the button or sensor. So replacing it with another wireless device, even if it's a trackball, isn't going to fix the problem down the road, you'll still be open to that bug again.

There's a simple fact: wired mice (keyboards, too) are rugged, durable, and last for ages. My experience with wireless versions says they're not. And it's not some problem with build quality, or brand, or defective parts. It's simply that the stuff it takes to make something wireless doesn't have the working life of the rest of the device. So if you're upset at having to replace your input device after 4 years... getting another wireless input device seems silly to me. It's like the definition of insanity as trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Now, if I've read the tone of your original post wrong, and you're not annoyed at having to replace your mouse, please disregard me, here.

Wireless mice will be great eventually, but not until the mousepad charges them and latency issues are fully resolved. Also they have to be really cheap.

Also they need to **** unicorns and rainbows.

I know I'd buy one.

I demand wireless mice that charge on the mousepad, latency issues are fully resolved, **** unicorns and rainbows, cure cancer and give great head. Oh, yeah, and they have to be really cheap.

I concur that this is irrefutable. I currently use this, and I cringe at the idea of trying any other mouse.



And I can also attest to the longevity of Trackman. One of mine is 11 years old and still going strong.

Mouse cords keep getting hung up on the edges of my desk. **** them. I tend to prefer wired keyboards, though.

I did that at work and then I got resistance as I moved my mouse closer to where was taped because the cord was pushing against me.

Go get your mom to tape it.
