Falling, shins/calves or knees?

First day falls have left me sore. I did much better the second day though. Muscles are sore all-around because I'm pretty out of shape.

Yeah. First day was beautiful, not a cloud in the sky. Second day was snowy all day which I also appreciated, completely changed the experience. The summit was awesome.

Sounds like fun. I was up there a couple of weekends ago, more in the Lake Arrowhead direction, though.

For those who don't know (i.e., aren't from SoCal), Big Bear is a very popular destination out here. It's about 2.5 hours from Los Angeles, very convenient. Can be a drag on holidays, etc., as everyone and their cousin tries to get up there. Especially if the one of the roads has been washed out, like it was a couple of weeks ago.

Hah yeah when you go snowboarding expect to fall, a lot. First day is rough, face plants and falling backwards regularly. Second day it should get better but you'll still fall. I'm probably heading to Utah next month to board there. Here's me in Colorado, highly recommended!

My first day, I kept catching my downhill edge. WHAM!!

I'd always have just enough time to get my hands down to protect my face. My wrists hurt so bad by the end of the day I couldn't use my hands well.
